I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.
Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!

Madge's view, would be interesting to see what former players say, obviously they are going to deny knowledge, coaches i guess have a certain degree of deniability, as they wont be party to contract negotiations, but players like Matt King (not accusing) know how much they were getting paid.

Adam Blair.
With MM we'd be so well placed to swoop.
If it wasn't for the fact they probably won't have learned their lesson yet, and will still be asking the Earth.
Ah well, we can dream.

Its not the players fault, thats like saying your boss offers you a bonus and you refuse because of the possibility it could go under.
Thats [sizeIF[/size the players did know there was something fishy going on

| All their sponsors have pulled out, too, unsurprisingly.

I didn't mean that. I meant that they'd still probably want massive salaries - and we couldn't deliver.

[quote="Saddened":15kig0eg]Pat Richards is poop. A typical, average, run of the mill NRL outside back. Nothing special at all. Like Barrett he is a myth. He is solid enough, he can catch, he can kick goals.[/quote:15kig0eg]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7958.jpg |

| and the players claim they didnt know
You know the one that was 'not against the rules' according to the auditors ?
We know the bean counters & suits did the wrong thing.
They REALLY screwed up
but let's wait for some REAL evidence before we start throwing bricks at players

| If anyone's interested, Israel Folau is expected to announce this week that he's off to play Rugby Union.
Regardless of who's right and who's wrong in the Melbourne wrangle, I wonder if the NRL are now beginning to wonder whether the salary cap was really worth it?

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| What a shambles all this is! RL was taking over in Aus, this is a huge step backwards.

Honestly this sort of thing makes my blood boil! We are in the process of slowly killing our game off one superstar at a time.
I’ve no doubt we’ll get some Muppet on here or on the VT saying that the SC is a good thing but at the end of the day losing players like Falou, Gasnier and SBW is in no way shape or form a good thing for the game.
The cap either needs to go or be majorly restructured so we can keep these stars in our game. I don’t particularly care if they are paid 1 or 2 million a year as imo they are worth it as they make our game memorable and great. You can’t put a price on spectacular moments of athletic brilliance some of these guys come up with.
I’ve never understood the stupid argument people make about not missing these players as we always seem to keep producing quality youngsters to replace them? Surly it would be better to keep all of our talent in RL and still keep producing the young players as well? Imagine the likes of Inglis or Falou going up against Gasnier in a SOO game or adding a quality player like SBW to the NZ team at the world cup? Imagine the impact Sailor, Tuqiri or Matty Rogers would have had on our game over the past decade?
Those are the match ups I want to see and I can’t see why any other RL fan on the planet wouldn’t want to see these as well?

I'm not so sure. In fact I'd go as far to say he is massively over-rated from what I've seen of him.
