| Just watched post match interview.
Just screams of "baby out with bath water" Brian Noble.
I can't believe we are back in this situation to be honest.

| He has clearly run out of ideas now and knows it, he also knows he has run out of excuses. Fear for his job must be top of his agenda now, after all his stock value has dropped, he was in demand when we won the double, now you'd wonder just who would want him should leave the club?
Every coach has a shelf life at a club, I feel he has passed his now and the club needs new ideas. It's nothing personal, it's about results and entertainment. Performances and attendances are dropping fast and the club need to address it.

However , passion alone can not win games in Superleague . We are totally devoid of ideas in the opposition 20 , and thats where it really matters . We have no shape whatsoever in attack . We have very few dummy runners . The amount of telegraphed drop offs we did tonight was ridiculous , especially when there were no players running lines to cause confusion in the opposition defence . It can't go on ......... we need some new blood on the coaching staff . The style of play has to change next season , which means changes need to happen before then or season ticket sales will be a disaster'"
Great post. I was fuming last night, so deliberately didn't put down what I wanted to say. Your post just about sums things up. Wholesale changes required.

| I'm fed up with hearing all about how many players he hasn't got available. Its like he's the only sports coach in the world who has players who are out injured.
Maybe, just maybe, the injuries are happening because of his coaching methods and tactics.

| IMO the injuries are serving to highlight Wane's inadequacy. We have had probably more than any other club but a good coach gets the best out of his available resources. No one can claim that Wane is doing that. I've resisted for long enough, it's time for a new coach next season.

| Injuries aside, have the team that's been played this season performed to their potential, that is the job of the coach, to get the team performing as well they can. In my opinion we haven't even come close to that, not once.

| Wane must go in my opinion.
But I'll put a different spin on it just for discussions sake. It's been telling that our style of play and attack have been on the decline since Iestyn Harris left, followed by Paul Deacon. We didn't replace them and it's clear to see, the assistants we have in place at the minute are nowhere near the standard of Harris and Deacon and that is a direct correlation to our performances.
That therefore insinuates that Wane was carried by these two and without them, he is utterly clueless. I'd have either and or both Harris and Deacon back as assistant coaches in a heartbeat. Would and should that save Wane? Absolutely not.

| I said this earlier in the season and will say it again. It's not a criticism of Wane as such but every coach has a shelf life at a single club and Wane has reached his at Wigan. I feel it's time for a change and a new set of ideas to freshen up the side.
Whether that's for next season or the season after would depend on who is available. I don't see the point of sacking Wane at the end of this season unless someone good enough is available to replace him. I'm aware the media have talked about a couple of assistants in Australia who are viewed as potentially very good head coaches, whether they'd be prepared to come over I don't know. This side of the world I'd say only Powell or Betts would be viable options.

| Wigan have got progressively worse each season under wane. 2012 was Wane's best wigan team. Played great rugby at certain stages, and looked to be developing on Maguires good work. Since then it's been steadily worse, despite the 2013 double, which was dare I say, simply abit lucky. Easiest CC run in modern history, and then being comfortably beaten in the grand final until warrington had 3 key players go off injured not to return. It was the exception not the rule as the other seasons have borne out.
Wigan are a turgid team to watch, under wane the game isn't played in the right way both in terms of style, and intent.

| How John Winder, who was a video analyst few years ago, can proper himself through academy coach to assistant coach in space of 3/4 years is shocking.
I think a complete refresh of personnel is needed and friendships should be put aside

Quote: Brick with eyes "His reaction at the end of the press conference was cringeworthy. Walking off muttering "f****** hell" too. I don't want a coach who is happy with the crap we are serving up now. Or coming out with ifs and buts, we'd be top. It is only by virtue that the league is utterly piiss weak that we are still in touching distance of OT (we actually are, don't kid yourselves).
There have been a couple of "sackable" performances the last few years, which could normally cost a coach a job. Catalans away, Cas away, some shabby cup exits. Tonight was one too, dreadful and boring. I've said before, nothing less than a GF win will save him now and that may not be enough.'"
I agree 100% and even if we won the LLS and GF I would still like to see the back of him
Last night was a line in the sand moment for me as we were utter garbage,Widnes were down to 11 players and also to 12 players either side of the sin binnings and we still couldn't create anything to break them down and to actually tire them out for later in the game when we then should have been able to reap the rewards and have taken them apart
That press conference was cringe worthy,He absolutely lost the plot big style and flipped when he was asked a simple question that wasn't the usual run of the mill type that he gets asked each week
IMO it was a question that most of us on here would love to be able to ask him is it not?
ATEOTD you simply can't have a fan coaching the club, his time looks to be over and not before time

Quite the opposite actually. The rugby hasn't been pretty but with a busted team he's still kept us within touching distance of the top. He was being praised on here a few months ago for this.
The problem is that now we have some of our better players back and things still haven't improved skill-wise. I think Wane should stay as head coach but we desperately need someone to sort our attack out because it's unacceptable for a club of our size.

I would say the injuries were a valid excuse for the awful rugby, now he doesn't have that, neither did he have it at the start of the season, nor did he have it towards the end of last season. If we played to our potential with the ball, we would have won the GF last year and would be clear at the top now.

| With Leuluai back next year we can expect a big improvement in attacking structures. Whether that will be enough to give Shaun a bit more time remains to be seen.
