I'd like to think so, but if they were prepared to pay Ian Thornley far more than Wigan felt he was worth, what would they offer for Eastmond?

And nor should he his injury record is shocking and his temperament is certainly questionable. He is without doubt a player with huge potential, but not worth breaking the bank for.

This is what makes me think that a much easier life in Union, for more money, will prove irresistable to him.

That just looks like they've picked a couple of names out of the hat and linked them with Joel Monaghan.
He's a quality player, and I know Ian Lenagan has always said we're always on the look out for any players like that who may become available - Gleeson, Hoffman, Finch etc - but I don't see where Monaghan would fit in. We're sorted for wingers and centres.

Yes, that would alter matters and would be the only reason I could see us moving for Monaghan.

Surely if Roberts was off it would have been announced by now?

| Whether Amos goes home or not I don't want us to sign Monaghan. He's tainted and why should we risk the image of Wigan just when were starting to get back on top by signing a disgraced player.
As for Amos I'm with Craig surely something would have been announced by now.

| Wouldnt want to release Amos for Monaghan in a million years, he looks like a broken man & would be a massive risk especially with all the pressure he would be under here. If Amos was to go, I would hope that IL & Madge would deem Goulding, Charnley Marsh and Pryce enough to cover that wing.

| I don't care how talented he is, what he did was disgusting. I don't want him near a Wigan shirt.

It would be interesting if Amos Roberts was to leave whether Wigan would make a move for him (Monaghan). Under previous management I believe we would have overlooked his image and concentrated solely on what he can do on the pitch. Like I said, I think they've just thrown some clubs into the ring to put an article together. Journalists do that.
I hope/don't think that Amos Roberts would leave. I certainly don't want him to. He was absolutely outstanding earlier in the season. He was smashing all the statistics and was one of the form players in the world and the best player in Super League at the time. A shoe-in for MOS. At fullback, Roberts is a real asset. It's just a tragedy that the guy picked up an injury. I just pray that it doesn't affect him too much next season and he can rekindle that sensational form he was in at the beginning of the season.
