As stated before, it's a double edge sword though. SA went looking for work a few times in the quins game and was out of position in both attack and defence on a few occasions (and that isn't even bagging SA, it merely demonstrates that you can't have it both ways). Primarily you've got to play your position and patterns, run your lines and let your playmakers dictate the flow. If everybody starts going looking for work at the same time, the side loses it's shape completely and things fall apart.

True, yet Madge has rightly praised both Pat and Amos for doing it.

And pat and amos are both full of confidence playing with a great deal of experience, knowing when to go looking and when to stay in position at SL level.
Not young lads trying to break into the team.

| i haven't read all 13 pages on this one
For me it was a big improvement on what has been dished up previously. he did the full 80 minutes (1st time since he joined the club), took the ball in well and scored a try. Yes he made a couple of mistakes, but kept getting himself into positions to take the ball
IMO he is a player with massive potential, but has definately been lacking something, whether that be confidence after his injuries or heart to play (as has been questioned many times on various forums). So Sunday was a massive step forward, lets give him another chance and our support instead of him being the next fans scapegoat

| As I have said so many times, Karl Pryce is a talented player. What we need to find out what makes him "tick". What motivates him. If Maguire can find that we have a match winner in the team.
Pryce did o.k. on Saturday, not spectacular, but solid, and is worth another chance.
Whether he takes it or not is entirely up to him, it's his career at Wigan on the line.

What motivates him is cash....
i thought at first he looked improved but its' the effort that bothers me. He just doesn't looked bothered and the celebration or lack of it from himself and his teammates suggests not alls well. Granted i might be reading more into it but Pryce has never been one of my favourites ever since watching at academy at Bradford.

I have to say that I don't think Pryce would have done himself any favours by celebrating that try. Though he finished it strongly, and gave young Marsh a quick lesson in how to get over in the corner, that score was mainly created by Carmont.
Pryce has a quite a long way to go to win back the fans who've come to doubt him in recent years. If he'd given himself a slap on the back for one try, I'm sure he'd have been slated for it.

Watch his celebration when Sam scores.

I wouldnt bother Rogues, i pointed out his celebrations when Sam and Carmont scored earlier in the thread but these people choose too see and hear what the want to, Pryce will never do right in their eyes!

| Many people on this board have stated over various selection issues when they didn't initially agree with them "in Madge we trust" or words to those effect. Maguire is confident enough and pleased enough with the performance, attitude, fitness etc of Karl Pryce to give him a shot and has hinted after doing so at giving him more opportunities should he continue in his eyes to warrant them.
Whether or not each individual believes that Pryce is good enough for their ideal Wigan team can they please at least show the faith they have professsed in our coaching team and back their decisions if and when Pryce plays. I am sick of seeing page after page of bile being directed at one of our players and of hearing people criticise them at every turn during and after games.
Can those that do not believe he is up to a regular spot at least hold their tongues until he has had more opportunities to show what he can do. Just hold your silence for a few games and give him the opportunity to play. Just give the lad a chance, Michael Maguire and Shaun Wane are willing to.

| Pryce definitely isn't getting the praise he deserves.
I'm sure if Pat or Amos had not played a SL game for as long as Pryce hasn't and came back and put in a solid performance like that most people would be quite happy with it. Coming back to play with alot of the fans on his back, lacking in confidence still, he did well for a player in that situation.
Deserves to start the next game. Will gain more confidence, playing another full game would help with fitness, could be the start of him turning into a good player for us.

| I feel KP had a solid game too, made a knock on early on, probably nerves, but his try more than made up for that
as for comparing SA and KP:
SA 1 game, 0 tries, conceded 38, scored 26
KP 1 game, 1 try, conceded 10, scored 28
let the stats do the talking, not slating SA, nor saying KP had a brilliant game
As for the games they've played, i feel KP had a better game than SA did, and therefore took his chance better
