Coop's was always likely to get a game in this match, he's been pushing Thurston so hard for the 7 shirt for a couple of years now and with both Thurston's repeated shoulder problems, and the uncertainty about his long term future, I think coop's is quite rightly going to get his shot. He's a terrific player, and as a blue's fan I really wish he'd not been a Queenslander, he'd have been nailed on for the NSW 7 shirt for a number of years already.

Me too, him and Sam would make a brilliant partnership IMO.

Him and Sam could be quite sensational if they got going, and would be the most inventive pair of half backs we would have had in quite some time.

Lenegan has been fairly transparent in his desire to recruit players with a Wigan connection so there may be something in this.

He was woeful against us at MM.

So? He has been fantastic for most of the season one bad game doesnt mean he's a bad player.

most players have been awful against us. doesnt mean i wouldnt take players like eastmond, shenton and tronc (who were already very ineffective against us)

Brown would be ok at Wigan as he's a good player but he's not the type of player we need imo.

We really need number 7 general who can organise the team and has a top notch kicking game as well.

We’ve got in Tomkins one of the best free running 6’s in the game and he can also provide those off the cuff moments as well as we saw with his chip over against Wire or his snipping runs at the end of the Saints game.

What we desperately need is a long kicking game and a player that can make the opposition start off on the back foot and make sure that we finish our sets in the correct way. I know it’s something the Aus commentators spoke about during the ANZAC test match in saying that Cronk was showing Marshall how to finish a set off.

There must be a player in the Toyota who can fulfil this role for us surly? When you look at talented players like Dobbo who can’t get a gig in the NRL it shows what strength in depth there is over there in the HB spots. Look at Penrith last season and the way the picked a talented player like Luke Walsh up for almost nothing.

You’d hope with MM in depth knowledge and connections in the NRL we’d be able to find a player like that?

I would have kev brown back here in a shot.

He coul;d either play at 6 with sam at 7 or could play at centre.

Likewise he could play at 6 with sam at 1.

Brown would be an exceptional addition to the squad but it would take a transfer fee and i just cant see it ever happening.

I don't see why a transfer fee would be an obstacle. It wasn't with Martin Gleeson

Whoever it was mentioned that IL is trying to build a squad of Wiganers or lads with strong Wigan connections, is close to the mark. I think Kevin Brown would be an attractive proposition for IL for this reason.

Whether he would fit into our pattern is a valid question. We already have two halves. But, as you say, he could play out in the centres with no difficulty.

I didn't think he was. I thought he was their most dangerous player.
