Quote: Cruncher "if Warrington have THREE centres who are better than him, their lowlier position in the league table doesn't provide much evidence of it.'"

Nope, but the fact that all three have three times (or more) the assists that Gleeson has is a decent indicator, especially given one of them has spent a lot of time on the wing.

Also if my Aunty had balls Etc?

Pure Speculation.

You guys are happy with your team, were happy with ours.'"

We wouldn't have won more. Bad influence in the dressing room, incorrect attitude etc.

Wire trophy count with Gleeson - 0
Wire trophy count without Gleeson - 2

Wigan trophy count with - 0 (for now)
Wigan trophy count without - 0

Facts speak for themselves. Although as somebody said previously both parties are happy.

Lies, damn lies and statistics.

Gleeson has been integral to Wigan's success this season, not just in attack but also in defence, and I wouldn't take any of Wire's centres ahead of him.

But as I said before, neither I, nor the Wire lad, nor you, are in a position to appreciate the full performance of each other's players, so it's a pointless attempt at point-scoring, if such a thing is possible.

Edited for accuracy. It's a small point, but I'm sure you wouldn't want to get a reputation for having a selective memory when it comes to facts that speak for themsleves.

The problem there is that doesn't take into account the teams plays, e.g. we throw a cut out pass to Goulding a LOT on that side that keeps Gleeson's assist numbers far lower than they would be.

Attack definitely but I'm not so sure about defense, he's not the strongest defender IMO. I'd definitely take King and Atkins ahead of him, not too sure about Bridge.

No, but as fans we all have opinions, which is why this message board exists. I'm sure in your time you have decided player A is better than player B without having watched every game they play.

Why you think it's point scoring I have no idea, you get very defensive at the most minor discussions icon_biggrin.gif

if that is being serious it's the most stupid arguement ever!

riddell better than monas you are having a laugh.

the only players i would take from wigan are the 2 tomkins, richards, robertsand o'loughlin on that evidence i think wire and wigan are equally matched atm and shown by meetings in the league it's 1-1.

my team would be:

richards
roberts
king
atkins
riley
briers
tomkins
morley
monaghan
carvell
j.tomkins
westwood
o'loughlin

subs:
clarke
solomona
fielden (can;t say higham is good enough or vanderson only half decent wigan forwards who can make metres)
wood

Thanks. Glad the League Leader's Trophy is fair enough.

You may think it small potatoes, but you didn't manage to win it, did you.

PS: The manly response would have been to admit that you forgot about it.

Nobody really counts it now though, not as one of the major trophies. It's like finishing top of a qualifying group in the world cup/champions league. It's good for seeding but doesn't really matter as the only advantage it gives you is a choice in the eliminator. I didn't forget about it, just see it as insignificant and not a major trophy. Some Wigan fans were harping on the past few years that final placings don't matter as it was all about the playoffs and the grand final or was that just when you weren't finishing top? Whatever suits I suppose. When you win the grand final I'll be put in my place anyhow

SL
Challenge cup
world club challenge.

three that matter.
