TBH I was struggling with the last bench spot. I think 16 of the 17 is pretty nailed on, well 15 as there is still debate whether Thornley or Gelling play in the centres. I don't think we need a bench hooker or half on the bench so it would be an extra forward. Burke could be an option but he hasn't played for a long time. A young prop like Greenwood could be used also but he is still very inexperienced. Hughes had a decent game against Hudds but on the whole this year he hasn't played well. Andy Powell is still way off the pace, though as I said above I think could prove useful in short bursts, the home game against Hull after the cup final as an example. Or Gelling could be used off the bench as a SR/cover for outside backs.

A Powell/Hughes - Hughes turns too much ball over for me and I do have doubts over Powell's fitness for this one. Thornley to start and Gelling as sub perhaps?'"
Assuming lockers doesnt play then as above but with the idea you mooted below.
i would play thornley so for me its same as hudds but tuson in for hughes and gelling to bench for powell to provide cover in 2 areas (centre and back row).

39110_1363272058.jpg Dropkick Murphy..we actually saw and heard a mass of bouncing and scarf and flag waving to Dale Cavese that drowned out anything we could muster.. It stopped us singing our own celebratory songs, it died out seconds later when we accepted we couldn't be heard over the Wigan lot
Celebrations muted from us, job done from them. Most fans who slag them off are jealous their own club's support is nowhere near that good
-
sally cinnamon..Why not discuss Wigan? It's a rugby league message board. Wigan are the most famous brand in rugby league
-
Tre Cool..Saints fans are hopeless unless it's a cup final or grand final. Wigan fans are so much more loyal and passionate
-
the flying biscuit..Wires havent been massively succesful over the years, but I've spoke to Brian Bevan And he spoke to me and i wouldnt swap that for Wigans History, ever
-
Ande..on the TV i could only hear the Wigan fans with about 10 to go
-
Saint94..Every team is in your feckin shadow, we all know

| Logan must mot play in this game. Look how much better we were against Hudds without him.
5 props is also a must in my opinion. Leeds battered us in the forwards twice this year.

| SW has named five props as usual but normaly he drops one from the 17.
Hope he doesn't this time as we need to win the forward battle as at Huddersfield.

The difference now is that Lockers is out injured so Flower will be at loose, as such I fully expect all 5 to get a run out

Snap, if we are picking on form then Gelling should get the nod above Thornley.

This should be the team but I think Thornley will play instead of Gelling and Logan will play instead of Powell.

| think we lose too much intensity when Macca goes off for Logan, we need to keep the pressure on in attack and defence for the full 80 minutes.
Logan to miss out for me and probably Powell as well....we need size on the bench

I agree completely, McIlorum should be playing 80 mins in the big games with a bench packed with forwards. From that squad selection however I think Logan will play. I can't see Logan and Sam Powell being dropped from the match day squad, surely another prop would have been in the 19. By the looks of the squad I think it'll be one of Gelling/Thornley and one of Powell/Logan to miss out. Big mistake IMO.
