Sometimes a player never gets better.

However I think Sam T is the best player I have seen at Wigan excepting Ellery Hanley who had such an immense presence. For ability Sam is as good as ever seen and I just think he needs to maintain this standard. If he does will be in 3 or 4 years up with Ellery.

Being serious Wigan fans need to realise and understand that we are seeing here a world class player not just from now but taking in previous greats. just appreciate it as things can change so quickly. Sam Tomkins is the best I have seen.

Most exciting thing in World Rugby, in either code.

Not yet the best, but boy, not far off that accolade.

Look all this bumming him up really gets on my t!ts.

He's overrated, doesn't really come up with anything special and has no pace. He won't be able to hold his place down come the end of the season the way he's going.

With that in mind, we will gladly take him off your hands for our Superleague return for a miniscule fee - I've got some shrapnel in my pocket after last night which should just about cover it.

Best to cut your losses now don't you think;

Quote: Mr.Side "Just that we aint as good as Saints because theyve reached 11 semi finals in a row in the Challenge Cup... I challenged the 8 in a row in Challenge cup finals? or the 19 leagues?

No reply.
Let me guess, the comeback will be, ah but we reached 11 semi finals in a row when rugby was a professional game (post Sky intervention), therefore Wigan’s 8 doesn’t count.

I mean come on look at this season, they’ve beat Sheffield, Featherstone and Hull KR all at home, hardly anything to gloat about is it really.

Sam will improve, because areas of his game are in need of improvement for him to be one of the worlds best.
If he is ever to move up to 6 then he really needs to work on his kicking game, passing and decision making when controlling the team from the halves.
He's not in Lockyers or Thurstons league in the halves.

If he is to stay at FB he needs to improve his positioning, catching of the high ball etc.
He's not in Slaters/Haynes league in these areas.

His attacking with ball in hand is amazing, a true game winner.

But he's far from being a complete player in any position.

He is getting better under the high ball, but Sam's broken play running is out if this world! Not a great yet, but he will be. I just enjoy watching Tomkins play he's worth the entrance money alone, there's nobody in SL I would swap him for.

Could learn to pass at times though...

What a pleasure to watch, I watched Boots n All the tries this afternoon both his tries were brilliant. The first one, how many players would just have took the tackle? Sam had the awareness and sense to score the try like he did, not many others would have. His second was special. His vision was brilliant, there were two or three Wigan players around the PTB, Sam came from nowhere pushed them out of the way picked the ball up and knew exactly which holes to run into and had the pace to beat them all. What a talent.

Don't know about that, he seems a tough lad to me, he takes quite a lot of stick now.

Maybe getting banjoed every week is part of the cause of the attitude, not the other way wound? Just a thought.
