| Quote: Wigan/Leeds Andy "Lets hope Joel gets a long ban for leading with the elbow, and then has to spend time in the U20s until he gets another go in the first team. His indiscipline was one of the reasons we didn't see the game out against Stains and could easily have cost us two today. If I was an opposition coach I'd wind him up all match because it's only a matter of time before the brain fart happens, one of which some day is going to cost us a huge game unless he grows up.'"
Pretty much my thoughts apart fom the long ban thing. Sending off sufficient for me. However Joel is far too easy to wind up and i think there are a lot of people out there that are wise to this now. He really needs to sort this part of his game out because it will cost us big time at some point.

| For me he raised his elbow during the 2nd contact but he raised his elbow straight after the fight. Made Gansons job easy but a Hull man should of been binned earlier for the 4 tackles they were done for on Sam.

[quote="Headingley Rhino"]Great win yesterday at our place, there is no denying you are probably the best team in SL as you have proved it all year so I think it's justice done that you have got to Old Trafford. I thought wigan was excellent in the second half and showed why you guys are top dogs this year.: |

| The tackles on Sam were getting to Joel a bit I think. I sit near the dug-outs and could see Joel chomping at the bit and clenching his fists etc as if he couldn't wait to get on and put it about a bit. Others around me noticed too and you could only see one thing happening from that point.

If the tackle's legal, yes. When, like today, they're constantly around the neck, or while he's in the air after fielding a kick, then no.
Ganson warned Manu repeatedly, but bottled out.

Yeamen should have been spending 10 mins in the bin for throwing three punches at Joel.

| Might be an idiot, but I'd go far as say that whole incident actually made us decide to take control of the game. Without that happening, we would have just plodded on and lost.

| Joel got himself sent off with a completely needless and blatent foul.
However, Ganson should have dealt with initial incident far better than he did. Should have sent both Joel & Yeaman to the sin bin to cool off after the first punch up.
Instead all he does is have a chat, Joel is handed the ball on the first play and obviously charges straight at Yeaman.
No excuses, a stupid sending off but with better officiating could have been avoided.

Ive posted earlier both Yeamo and Joel should of been binned and then the next incident doesnt happen. Ganson was poor today for me.

| Some people need to watch a replay before slating Joel theres nothing in it.
As someone stated i thought Joel was good today before he got sent off, he added alot of enthusiasm to a very lackluster display from the team.

Your probably right in all honesty. We looked a little lethargic today until that point but after it played like men possessed!
Micky McIlorums tackle rushing out of the line on Radford in the first hit up after the red card was awesome to watch. He really is one tough(if slightly mentle) cookie.

Lol you should get some sort of award for the most amount of BS posted on this forum.
I was directly in front of the first rumble and Yeamen punched Joel three times in the face simply because Joel said something to him. If that isn’t a sin bin or sending off offence then what is? Ganson bottled the situation by not sending Yeamen to the bin and ending it there
I don’t dispute Joel lead with the elbow and I also don’t dispute it’s a red card but he’s not the only person to blame for the situation but yet has copped all the punishment and he’s the only one facing a ban?

| From what i saw i don't think we can have any arguments with the red card. I'm not sure the initial contact was with the elbow but it looked like he certainly raised it just after with intent. Foolish thing to do but it was blatantly gonna happen, The disappointing thing is it took that red card to get us fired up. If only we'd had that aggression from the start.
Ganson didn't control the game very well though imo, Hull got away with a lot and where lucky to of not seen someone binned themselves.
