| 5 hours to dig the car out and clear enough snow to get off our culdesac today in Derbyshire. No chance of going anywhere other than to get some grit to try and escape tomorrow. No buses or trains to get me up to Sheffield. Still snowing now but a bit less.
Never seen this much snow here in 20 years,

| was snowing in preston and blackpool today but not much stuck despite it going at it for a few hours, biggest problem is the ice, its murder round here, roads are safer than pavements to walk, and someone was taken hospital in ambulance earlier because of how bad the ice was around college. Worst bit is the ice causes my games to get called off :@

| Anyone want some snow. Get youself up to Edinburgh, we have about a foot in our street. Have dug the car out 4 times since Saturday and have'nt driven more than 3 feet. Have not been able to get to work (quarry @ Harthill) since last Friday. Edinburgh Airport has been closed since Sunday.

| One of the the things I miss about 'winter' rugby - the snow classics. Can anyone recall any? One of my all time favourites was away at Halifax (Thrum Hall not the shay), I think we were losing quite heavily and came back to win in the 2nd half. I distinctly remember Andy Gregory throwing an outrageous dummy and going in under the sticks virtually untouched.
Watersheddings away defeat in the CC. (shocker). For some reason, snow games seem to 'stick' (no pun intended) in the memory.

| I also remember driving to Odsal. We had Radio Manchester on and all the way there it was on, then off, then on again etc. We got final confirmation that the game was off as we got off the motorway at Bradford, went round the roundabout and got straight back on the M62 and headed home!
