| salty wrote "the demise of the latics may help" i doubt it did wigans demise a few years back help the latics,no the crowds at the latics didnt alter one bit,and it isnt cheaper to go to the pub than actually go to the game it was 17 quid in the eas stand last night, anyone going downt the pub would spend at least 20 quid, its time people stopped making excuses for the "supporters" that cant be bothered turning up and supporting the team.
wigan people depress me sometimes they really do,wiganers are so tight its a wonder half of them breathe out.

[quote="Saddened":15kig0eg]Pat Richards is poop. A typical, average, run of the mill NRL outside back. Nothing special at all. Like Barrett he is a myth. He is solid enough, he can catch, he can kick goals.[/quote:15kig0eg]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7958.jpg |

| Doesnt matter how many excuses people come up with, the fact is it was a poor crowd and many of us expected alot better. But if we keep up with the wins the crowds will build.

Its a town full of people who prefer to watch the games at the pub, but them complain when they cant get tickets to semis, finals etc

Its no different in Sydney. Look at Parra fans, they would be lucky to get our crowds (they just got about 10,000 against the Broncos!!!!) yet somehow 40,000 fans wanted tickets to the semi and grand final, and then bitch when they cant get them

But that's not just the people of Wigan. Look at football for an example. How many people go watching their local football team in league 1? Yet when they play a big team, or get a trip down to wembley for the playoffs etc suddenly the whole town and people who once lived there want a ticket, and all of them claim they're life long fans that love watching them.

| thats a fair point kevl84 but my point is not just about going to wembley, its about the peolpe of this town(not all of them ) having no pride in where they come from, and then the ones that do show a bit of local pride by supporting their local teams, constantly bitch at each other over who has the biggest crowds.

188 Bet use it for 'paying out' after a game. Not that I've ever known a bookie to pay out!

We're coming to make some noise!: |
|
| Wait a second...if you brought to Craven Park the amount of fans we brought to yours last night you would fill the temporary seated stand at the North end of our ground. However you are lucky to fill two sections of it when you and most other teams come.
So before you start saying we brought a poor following on a cold wet Friday night for a game that was on Sky you might want to get your own house in order first. As pointed out you had about 40 away fans the previous week and still got a bigger attendance.
I only wish Craven Park could fit 12.5k in it and do it regularly so to be disapointed about that amount is remarkable. But then to say we brought poor numbers is a very weak statement and unless you can sell more than 1500 tickets to come over to East Yorkshire on what will probably be a Sunday afternoon then I'd suggest you dont complain about our travelling support.
