Well there's clearly a major sport in Wiggin, as their Premier League testifies.

Isn't there a rugby team that shares Wigan Athletic's ground? They cut up the pitch something rotten.. it'l never last. When the latics make the Europa League and have another 10 internationally-televised games per season there, UEFA won't stand for it. Pity the tenants, those poor relations will be back playing touch rugby in Tesco's carpark.

Theres a little blip in your fantasy you see, if that were to ever happen- Wigan, being a Super League team would be playing in the LSV and you would be the ones actually playing touch rugby in Asda carpark icon_lol.gif

Yeah, that's right... a team playing in red and white hoops in Leigh... you'd be the SL team in Leigh, just like Gateshead are the SL team in Hull, and Sheffield are the SL team in Huddersfield. Bring it on.

I do like the way that originally it would be the Premier League that wouldn't stand for dual use stadiums and therefore we would be out on our ear, and now it has changed to UEFA that will end up getting us kicked out. Talk about clutching at straws............ icon_lol.gif

Don't hold your breath.

Far more likely is the advent of a European Premier League, to which Latics will never, ever be invited, and which will condemn them, in effect, to second division status all over again, without them even having been relegated. It'll be harsh but undeniably fair.
