| Id have a whole host of em....but if just one would have to be farrell IMO.....not because i think he was the best out of the players listed....(who could ever choose between greg, edwards, farrell, rads, hanley etc.) but because i think he would bring all the things we are currently missing, and if we could only have one player, he would be the one who could make up almost singlehandedly all of the deficiencies in this current side and make them into title challengers IMO.
IMO we are lacking four major things at the moment, Go forward, Creativity, a Leader, & passion and desire.
Out of all the players listed faz would be the only one who would probably tick all those boxes......he could be the $hithouse prop we so desperately need and take the pack forward almost singlehandedly (remember 2005?!?!), as a creative player he was also one of the smartest forwards i have ever seen (bar prob hanley) and would add stacks of creativity in the middle. As a leader he was probably second to none, and he never lacked desire or passion, nor would he allow a player to play in his team which lacked it.
a player like farrell IMO could take this current lot to a final. Was saying this in the pub on friday....when you lose players of his and barretts calabre it really makes you realise what great players they are. Currently, and probably for the last 10 years we have been nothing but an average mid table side, yet while we didnt win much with either of these two, both those players took us so close to a number of successes almost single handedly, and turned a team of mid table averageness into almost title challengers.

| Quote post="post"Pick a team of current players from our squad with 3 clones, bear in mind the overseas quota.
1- Radlinksi
2- Roberts
3- Pryce
4- Carmont
5- Richards
s6- Edwards
7- Leuluai
8- Fielden
9- Riddell
10- Farrell
11- Hock
12- O'Loughlin
13- Hanley
14- Palea'aesina
15- Prescott
16- Hansen
17- Tomkins'"
Is it me or are there 4 clones there?
Given the option I would just clone the '95 Grand Slam winning team. However with just three i would go:
Richards
Roberts
Connolly
Carmont
Ainscough
S Tomkins
Edwards
Platt
Riddell
Fielden
Hock
O'Loughlin
J Tomkins
Hansen
Feka
Leuluai
O'Carroll

Ok sorry I got carried away, no need to be pedantic.
By the way the grand slam was 94.

| Just 3 or 4 'clones' would make a massive difference to our current team. Juts can't believe we once had a team filled with world beaters in every position.
Past Wigan players
Hampo/Radz
Robinson/Gill/Ferguson
Connelly/Iro
Bell/Miles/Ren
Offiah/Boston
Edwards/Paul/Botica/Kenny/Barrett
Edwards/Greg/Dobson
Kel/Barrie Mc/Cowie
Kiss/Dermott/Hall
Platt/O Connor/Lucas
BettsGoodway
Potter/Goodway/Furner
Hanley/Clarke/Faz
All would walk into the current squad/team.

| I always love this kind of thread, nobody ever goes for players before the 80s. How about Ashton, Boston, Gee or Sullivan just to mention a few?

People tend to pick players they've seen play. Rogues will probably pick Jim Sullivan

| Quote Last Son of Wigan="Last Son of Wigan"Only got 3 picks from our history. If I picked Radz I couldn't have had Hanley Edwards or Farrell.
I think These positions are more important to fill than the FB spot.
Obviously I'd have Rads over Pat. but then again I've have Hampo over Rads.'"
Sorry man
I really should read things better

| I'd take Sam Panapa thesedays. Mark Preston over Roberts, and McGinty over Lockers.
Hardly Wigan's best as well!
