It's always a slow news day when there's bad news in RL.
It's especially pathetic from papers like the Mirror and the Guardian. So-called Labourites, but they never miss an opp to kick the working man's sport.

| Quote: RichieS "It is quite evident that the 4-week suspension for Joel is in place so that the new coach may decide if he wants JT for next year, the ST situation is sorted as he's off anyway. If the new coach doesn't want JT for 2019 then we can expect Joel to have his contract terminated in the coming weeks. They have simply bought time to ensure the new management has a say.
The rumour regards Shaun Wane resigning due to being undermined seem fairly evident here, I don't think he will be very happy about JT's suspension for the next month. The fall-out from this will be quite epic and I would expect a few developments between now and Thursday. What I will say is that we can expect very little from ST if he is picked to play, the toys are well and truly out of the pram.'"
That'll be nothing we're not used to after last Saturday (and then the story hadn't even broken).

Ritchie how has SW been undermined in this instance? I would like to think that SW has handed his ticket in because the club did nothing about the incident when it occurred several weeks ago.
If ST cannot understand some of the reactions (some a little OTT for me) then he needs to wake up and go and talk to a few fans to understand the sheer frustrations currently smothering the fan base. He probably cant be d though.

If you don't bother to go to the game when you live in the locality then you are not really a fan and therefore your views are invalid. It's simple.:icons39ad_files/4821-1859san_c-msnicons.jpg |

I thought the same Itchy, but the surfeit of Wane haters won't see it that way...

| Incorrect. If SW genuinely felt the lack of immediate punishment for JT & ST was enough to warrant his resignation, then why would he continue to select them both? If he felt that strongly about it, surely he would drop them, it would be a little fickle if he called it a day but continued to select the pair responsible for his decision? Unless of course he isn't the one selecting the team
From the limited information I have, it appears SW wanted a number of things to happen this year, Liam Watts as FPN's replacement is "apparently" the biggest one and it only made matters worse when Powell signed him at Cas, the fall-out led to him quite selfishly wanting to announce he was leaving on his terms rather than at the end of the season. In this instance, the fact the powers-that-be have suspended Joel T for the next month and made the Sam T situation difficult will certainly have irritated SW immensely.

Looks to me like Wane and KR were compliant in the cover-up, and IL due to taking his eye off the ball was unaware.
I doubt when the Landlord rang the club to complain he was put straight through to Joel or Sam.
All speculation though, let's see how the week pans out.

3076_1671446335.jpg SAINTS THE ORIGINAL AND PERENNIAL CHEATS
For sale full Saints kit (circa 1989). Shirts in pristine condition, but shorts badly soiled.
For 27 - 0 you get a trophy
For 75 - 0 you get sod all.
Wigan had eight in a row

Tony Callaghan the owner of the "15's" chain of pubs is a big Wigan fan and club sponsor. He would no doubt have Sam and Joels phone numbers.

Interesting stuff Richie.
Maybe SW was told he had to select them both - he wouldn't be the first or last coach to be in that predicament.
I haven't always supported SW with his tactics or lack of kicking game but I have always had him down as a good honest bloke and in the "old school" when it comes to how a guy treats a girl. I think one of his daughters is a manager of a bar so he would know a can cause issues for staff particularly female staff. I would be very disappointed and a little surprised if he was complicit in anyway in this disappointing saga. I am sure that there is more to come from this episode.
Watts would have been a good signing for me and Im disappointed that he didn't end up at the club.

Really? There's still people out there who don't realise that once you've posted something it's out of your control? A youngish girl at that? We must live in very different worlds Dave!

This statement can be true without saying he or the club wasn't aware of it.

I tend to agree with you on both points.

Very much how I (and, I would imagine, nearly all Wigan fans) view Shaun Wane.
I would like to think that with the service he was given the club, he should be able to walk away with his head held high. It would be a real shame if this tawdry affair were to tarnish that.

| Wire fan here.
Not a great incident but also not the end of the world. It was cringeworthy and Joel particularly should be ashamed (and apparently is)
What is impressive to me, an outsider is how fans on this forum and the club have reacted.
The situation is largely diffused as far as the public is concerned now, and any action over and above what he got will be metered by the club.
It feels swift and appropriate by Wigan RLFC.
Couldn't have asked for more in my humble opinion.

it was when it came to the public eye, as for the punishment maybe they are waiting to see what the public says before it goes further, I would say that both have had severe fines defiantly

| Out of interest, What did Hull do to Albert Kelly after the McDonald incident? Would you not think they are very similar ?
