| I might be wrong but was that Bilko who asked him that final question?

I'm not sure about arrogant and deluded, all I got from that was a hugely disappointed coach. I wonder if his biggest problem as Wigan coach is that he gets too emotionally involved the way many supporters do when he should be taking a more pragmatic view of things.

| The man needs to get a grip and fast. That interview told you so much about Wane. Just angry, same old cliches and lost his composure at the end - just like his team. Tonight was a terrible loss.
However, we had 6 men out, we had a slow start, lacked composure final third, looked off in the warm up, they had a game plan and were allowed to execute it - excuses. Did Michael Maguire ever make these excuses?
Gets asked if he is under pressure. Takes offense, says no other club he would be asked that and then slams the table and leaves after a we woulda coulda shoulda had we won and hull lost etc.
He has given his all, but I am sick of him now. He is arrogant and clueless on how to turn this around other than yelling at his players. Can we honestly say he will turn our attack around next season and we'll be thoroughly entertaining? Sack him. He MUST go. What was the attendance tonight?

| As a bloke I like Shaun Wane , I've spoke to him on a number of occasions , he comes across as a very passionate Wigan rugby league man . However , passion alone can not win games in Superleague . We are totally devoid of ideas in the opposition 20 , and thats where it really matters . We have no shape whatsoever in attack . We have very few dummy runners . The amount of telegraphed drop offs we did tonight was ridiculous , especially when there were no players running lines to cause confusion in the opposition defence . It just doesn't happen . We are so one dimensional and boring it's untrue , and supporters are now getting fed up of it . As fans we want to win games but also be entertained . I take my kids and several of their mates to the matches . A few have already dropped off due to lack of action and entertainment. Losing support must be a worry to the Chairman. It can't go on ......... we need some new blood on the coaching staff . The style of play has to change next season , which means changes need to happen before then or season ticket sales will be a disaster

| His reaction at the end of the press conference was cringeworthy. Walking off muttering "f****** hell" too. I don't want a coach who is happy with the crap we are serving up now. Or coming out with ifs and buts, we'd be top. It is only by virtue that the league is utterly piiss weak that we are still in touching distance of OT (we actually are, don't kid yourselves).
There have been a couple of "sackable" performances the last few years, which could normally cost a coach a job. Catalans away, Cas away, some shabby cup exits. Tonight was one too, dreadful and boring. I've said before, nothing less than a GF win will save him now and that may not be enough.

To me that press conference suggested he knows that he's on his way out.

Probably, either that or he is completely deluded there are no other explanations.
Just watched the press conference and share the opinion of everyone on here, embarrassing and cringeworthy, slamming the table and deciding he is finished after the first serious question was asked.

| Just watched post match interview.
Just screams of "baby out with bath water" Brian Noble.
I can't believe we are back in this situation to be honest.

| He has clearly run out of ideas now and knows it, he also knows he has run out of excuses. Fear for his job must be top of his agenda now, after all his stock value has dropped, he was in demand when we won the double, now you'd wonder just who would want him should leave the club?
Every coach has a shelf life at a club, I feel he has passed his now and the club needs new ideas. It's nothing personal, it's about results and entertainment. Performances and attendances are dropping fast and the club need to address it.

Great post. I was fuming last night, so deliberately didn't put down what I wanted to say. Your post just about sums things up. Wholesale changes required.
