The Stewards last night were more bothered about the fact that we were standing on the yellow lines.

Quote: Rogues Gallery "Nobody says that all Wigan fans are angels.

However what we're talking about here is an act or acts of pure thuggery which has no place in our game or in society in general.

Someone said that there has only been one side to the argument posted, well he're a challenge, get the "man" who attacked Hogan and his girlfriend to come on here and give his side of the story.
I'll tell you what, you have two chances, very slim and zero.

I know not all Wire fans are scum, I have some friends who support Wire, and they are decent people from nice families (Billinge Wire being one)

The Warrington club and police have major responsibility for what happened last night, your own fans on here have identified that as a trouble spot at previous games.

Why wasn't it policed or stewarded?
That has to be the very first question.'"

Glad to hear someone knows the truth.

I can honestly say if I would of seen it happen I would of helped the Wigan fans I have no doubt the tvvat who did it is scum but we are not all scum and chavs but we do have a group of chavs who follow us.

I think next time there needs to maybe be a police escort, we play the Hull clubs alot of police are there.

The stewards were pretty poor last night. When Warrington scored their last try a guy was singing and dancing and parading himself in front of us all to incite us to do something. Another guy walked past beforehand shouting 'outside' to anybody who was willing. Fortunately most Wiganers, myself included, told him to jog on and no incident occurred. The stewards didn't seem remotely bothered however.

I was fortunate enough not to need the train last night and for what it's worth I'm sorry that Hogan and Yicker had to go through such a traumatic ordeal. The whole atmosphere throughout the game felt hostile so trouble was inevitable, a police presence throughout the town is certainly needed.

I'll admit I do give certain hand gestures and sing songs like the W@nky Warrington tune but in such a emotionally charged atmosphere I feel it's banter (and not directed at one individual) but I leave it all behind when the game is done and can chat with opposition fans with no malice - Warrington's minority need to learn this, they aint big or hard.

On a lighter note the Three Pigeons pub after the game last night was great, a lot of decent Wire fans and a lot of banter and singing which was all good-natured, the way it should be.

I think that some people are being unfair on the decent wire fans on here! Its the idiots who did this last night not Wire Yed or Wire 85 that need to be spoken too.

I saw the bother last night and can pretty much guarantee that 99% of the idiots causing trouble hadn't been to the game and had just tipped up from the pub by the bridge and probably went straight back there afterwards to tell their mates that they'd just battered some Wiganers. There really needs to be a police presence by the train station as this is a pretty regular occurence

For the 1st time ever (Probably because I had 2 x young kids with me) I decided to stay behind for a good 15 mins after the game tonight to let the crowd disperse etc.

I said to a lady stood at the side of me with 20 mins to go (Just before Richards kicked the penalty) that if we score again we'd better watch out becuase a large number of Wire fans were "Itching" for it!

My personal experience

I walked up the steps to the right of our away end (About 20yards in from the touchline towards the Wire South Stand) and on making sure the 2 x kids were stood safely I was told I was a Fing P1e etaing W*****, a Fing AHole etc for the next 10 mins! This was a guy in his mid 40's head to toe in Wire gear.
This guy continued all the way through the 1st half aiming the abuse at me personally, 10 mins before half time I admit I snapped and asked him to go outside if he wanted to but he better not keep calling me it.
It quietened down over half time and 1st 10 mins off second half but then it started all over again!
The bloke at 1 point for about 5 mins stood side on to the game just talking to me while I'm watching the game saying, W*****, G0be, Pie etaing you name it however luckily, my wife being at the side of me just kept saying ignore, ignore, ignore which I luckily did!

Once we got in front it got so bad I seriosuly though of moving but this was the best!

With about 15 mins to go & Wigan in front Guess what he did? The most Cowardly thing I could ever imagine. (And TBH I was kicking myself because I couls see it coming and was going to say something to the steward but refrained)!

Because he couldn't get me to turn round and have a go etc he walked up the steps and got a steward to come down and told him I had threatended him and to Throw me out!

I just nodded and said ok as I knew I couldn't win the argument, but my wife went over & told exactly what had happened since the 1st minute and he just said ok.

At the Final whistle he called me every name under the sun again (Sorry forgot to mention all this in front of my wife, my kids) gave ne the finger and told e to F off back to Wigan.
I didn't even smile back at him, he then wlaked to the front, got a different steward and must have said the same thing to him and tried to point me out etc but I think he just ignored him!

To quote my wife "It's the last time I'm taking the kids there!".

I'm sorry to tell her, It Won't! I for one will not let these idiots ruin "MY GAME!".

Now Grimmy is right, we do have some young chavs who push the line a bit, but Warrington have an element that with any kind of success brings them out of the woodwork, I've seen it so many times before it's untrue.

The Warrington club really must do something about it because it's getting beyond a joke now!

Me too. But why don't you accept that the corner was a disgrace last night (I know you said you weren't at the game), but you must have seen past games cause they always congregate there to annoy the away fans.

It happened at Widnes in the Semi, gangs of Wire grown men kicking off in the Wigan end at half time (and you had taken a big lead icon_surprised.gif ), it's a good job that we didn't come back to win cause I would have hated to see what happened had you lost such a big game.

I've had enough of Warrington Away as a game from now on I'm afraid, just hope the club sort it out but I doubt it as its been going on since the 80's for me, right through the 90's to now.

(Who remembers the mass violence at the first visit to the Macalpine in the Regal Trophy Final in the mid nineties), the worst I have ever seen it - and it was inside the ground.

I hope the club and the police sort it out as there are lots of Wire fans who seem pretty decent, yourself included. Hopefully they won't stick their head in the sand and state that 'it's no worse than any other club' or 'they were probably NOT at the match'.

Right that's the end of the subject for me, I want to concentrate on things that happened on the pitch. And the fact we are top of the league....... icon_cool.gif

Im sorry but it wasnt just Warrington fans that caused the trouble last night. Walking down Winwick Street towards town all we had was Wigan fans singing "W*nky Warrington" and offering every Wire fan that went past them a fight. Fair enough your team has won but considering the past problems i didnt feel it was necessary for your fans to be chanting this in the middle of Warrington. When i got to Central Station it was once again Wigan fans doing there most to try and get the Wire fans to fight. Some of the Wire fans did take the bait but this cant be just Warrington's fault.

At Edinburgh, we were sat with the Wigan fans for your game against saints, the atmosphere was great... Just behind us were about 4 Warrington fans, the abuse and language towards the Wigan fans sat in the area was shocking, we had young ones with us, we and a few others asked them to curb it to no avail, by the end of the match they were stood up abusing a pensioner (a lady wigan fan)..it was not nice, and I had to restrain my hubby back who was telling them where to go, he was disgusted!..However sadly every club has them, us included icon_sad.gif

Lets get one thing straight, If any Wigan Fans use the term "All Scum" etc etc then their out of order!

However

Would you not admit your club as a problem with a Small minority when it comes to situations like this?

i first experienced at Maine Road many moons ago, i'm sure you have fond memories of that game so
of course i do, i'd be extremely one eyed and naive if i thought different, but painting us out to be scum and making out no one should come to the HJ is wrong and disrespectful.
