Yes a great drop goal but perhaps older Wigan fans remember playing Hull KR in the eighties when Andy Kelly, who was not known for his kicking, dropped a goal from a similar position. I can't quite remember but that drop either drew or won the match, I do however remember that the Wigan players looked in a state of shock at the end of the final whistle.

What was the distance it was around the 30 or 40 meter mark but it was on the angle so it must have be around 60 meters it traveled.

| I think it’s a great skill only some of us have. Getting the time just right must be built in; it’s like patting your head and rubbing your belly at the same time. Over the years I’ve tried to get the drop goal timing right, no chance. Pat's was just superb, on the tele it looked plumb centre too.

The Maine road match was a massive semi final and Lydons was further and better -- end of. The Warrington game was intense and we scrapped through by the skin of our teeth, this game was shocking and forgettable

At last we have found someone that can do something that very few are capable of doing, being able to pat ones head at the same time as rubbing ones belly.  |
