If you read the Interview in the MM programme you would see that he was born in MK, supported Wire because his parents did, but as soon as he got old enough to see the light, he converted to Wigan. As did his parents!
Sam has nothing to do with Wire, apart from his dad being a supporter, he wasnt born there, neither has he ever lived there!
Not that there's anything wrong with supporting a different team than the one you play for. I'm sure we've had a few Saints fans play for us over the years, and vice versa. And of course, Mike Gregory was a life-long Wigan fan who played for Wire for many many years. And is arguably one of the best players ever to have played for you.
