| Quote: Phuzzy "so that would be a win against a very solid Harlequins side. Yeah mate I'll keep clapping and enjoying my rugby. You can keep doing whatever it is you do...'"
I thought we were shaky in defence against an average team who work hard, Sam tompkins gave us direction and always wanted the ball but i think Ainscough is not 100% ready in defence, those two will have their games picked out for them rather than playing week in week out.
We'll be there or there abouts come the end of the season, plenty of improvement in us, I even put money on us as outight winners last week at 25-1.

| Quote: Babyface Finlayson "Quote the whole point please mate, the defense is my most worrying point, we are woeful in that respect as we have been for over 12 months and seem to be going downhill still.'"
What do you mean quote the whole point?
The defense was reasonably solid today and certainly an improvement on previous weeks. Our goal line defense, barring one occassion, was improved in particular by a large margin. Not perfect by a long way but certainly better than previous weeks. I don't like the '3 steps forward and hold' defense as I have posted elsewhere but we seemed to abandon this in the second half. Whether this was due to the players taking it into their own hands or Noble finally realising it doesn't work I don't know, but as long as we defend with the enthusiasm we did in the 2nd half and continue to improve week on week as we did this week from last I'll enjoy my rugby.
Moving along to the point I was actually making. This weekend we've seen losses for Saints, Bradford and Warrington...alll against 'lesser' opposition while Wigan go away to Harlequins, traditionally a tough assignment for us, and come away with a win. After the doom and gloom of recent weeks I expected to come on here and actually see some positive, maybe even celebratory ( ) posts on here. Of course I should have known better. Some Wigan fans couldn't enjoy a free night in a brothel!

Doesn't surprise me.
You said it's better than burying my head in the sand and pretending all is rosy. If you bothered to read my post I said "Not saying all is rosy by any means".
Get it now?

The defense is at sea mate, against Saints or Leeds we would leak 40+ points as we have done last season under the same structures and it still hasnt been sorted..whos fault..BN,,IL..Defense not only wins you matches it also wins you finals as me and you know..sort the defense and the rest will follow.

I didn't read all of your post because I believe what you say is a load of to be honest
I was drawn to the 'I hate the f*cking whinging wiganers' bit as the * made it stand out but I should of read the rest of it sorry
However if you think they are wrong for 'whinging' I think you are the one who is wrong as they are simply recognising that improvement needs to be made and it should be pretty obvious to you too?

| Phuzzy Phuzzy Phuzzy you must get excited over the littlest things if you thought that was good enjoyable rugby. Our coach just doesn't have a plan A never mind a plan B we are easy to defend against and our defence is poor very poor and i think that the points for and against shows this.
You must be a very lonely man if thats what you are as well because after reading some of your other replies all you seem to do is try and pick other peoples comments to bits on spelling punctuation etc etc are you a misanthrope by any chance

I agree. But you can only play who's in front of you and tonight we defended well against a well organised and resolute team. We saw a massive improvement on previous weeks but will need to improve further for the big games. I just wish that the Wigan fans could enjoy themselves from time to time. I'll explain it in a nutshell. I currently have a friend over from Aus staying with me. He watched the game tonight and saw the things that need improving just like the rest of us. But his words on seeing the whinging on here...and I quote... "F*ck me, I can't believe people are actually whinging after a good game of footy like that. Don't they know how to enjoy themselves in Wigan?"
I'm rarely embarrassed to be a Wigan fan. Coming on here tonight was one of the rare occassions.

Maybe you should have come to the game then, because apart from a few occasions, we all enjoyed it. It was a win, ST was my MOM and we've got home happy.
[sizeAnd before anyone questions it, I live closer to London than Wigan.[/size

It was a good game but only because both teams were woeful in defense and that allowed numerous attacking plays, and a lot were wasted. But i agree it is an improvement on the last couple of weeks but it is still well below the mark we should expect from Wigan.
