Quote: jonh "Some people are living in a total fantasy world. Market forces dictate trade. Super League at the moment is a weak market compared to other competing markets.

It's all well and good quoting great overseas players from the past we have signed but it simply is not a realistic proposition at the moment, because of the open market.

We have signed so far 2 NRL based players, 1 who will be a very strong powerful dynamic back row forward and 1 world class player, who has been playing some of the best rugby of his career this season.

Look at the good Dr. over at Salford, I have seen comments on here about him and his recruitment plans etc and despite being linked with some world class names they hold a press conference to announce a load of OAP's from SL and a few NRL lads of a similar pedigree or lower than Eddie Petteybourn.

Growth from within is the way to succeed in times like this, market and both the coach and IFL are doing a great job in relation to that.

To be a top player you do not have to have an Antipodean accent. Saw a post lamenting the loss of Lima, and how he had not been replaced. Jesus as good as he was in his first year, he was gash in his second year generally, give me Scott Taylor any day, who did replace him.

The more you moan and complain an out being "short changed" or quote such things as ""IFL is mugging the fans off" or words to that effect the more moronic you look.

We as a club, are trading in a weak market, we are dealing with that the best way we can.

If you want to see a team littered with established World Class players at the height if their powers, put your hand in your pocket and get Premier Sport, then also an added advantage will be you will actually know something about the overseas players we have recruited rather than form an opinion on them based on zero evidence, or even better do yourself a favour get down to the Academy Final tomorrow if you want to see our future marquee players in action. Players that IFL is investing in and nurturing through the system to ensure we as a club are prepared for all trade conditions, now and in the future.'"

Personally I'm sad he is banned, and sad he and others have this irrational disdain for the present management. Nothing is perfect, and i would doubt that a single poster on this board is happy about the Sam situation. It's also sad that if you don't wander around with flaming torches and pitchforks, you are regarded as a "Happy Clapper", I don't find it insulting, I'm happy i can see both sides, a point some seem to miss. If they really want to moan and be happy, I'm sure they would be welcomed at MANY other clubs in SL who have genuine reasons to moan.

BTW, we are the current Challenge Cup holders, and 80 mins from Old Trafford.. Who would not have taken that at the start of the season... as for Sam, the king is dead, long live the king, move on.

Quote: Conroy "On the Tomkins move BTW, I have a feeling he'll play at 6 for the Warriors with Tommy moving to 9 to replace Nathan Friend (who I THINK is leaving) and Locky staying at full back.

Can't see him being too happy to be a sub and he's far too talented for that so unless they sell him (which again I can't see) then there isn't much room for him. A 9, 7, 6, 1 of Leuluai, Johnson, Sam and Locke has me pretty excited though as a Warriors fan.'"

I was talking to G West the week before the CC final. Tommy is moving to 9, I could have chatted to him all night given the chance.

If Sam had of stayed it wouldn't have stopped the moaners from moaning or the clappers from clapping. There is a lot of frustration in our game and you can't blame Sam and the Moose for wanting to go over to Oz for a decent wage and pitting their talents against tougher competition. I do genuinely believe IL is the best thing to happy to Wigan for a long time and he's fighting on all fronts and he doesn't have to do it, he can quit at any time but he loves the club. When the economic climate improves and the opportunities arise, that money will pay dividends for the club not IL

And that fellow Wigan fans is that.
Well said that man.
