Wire were missing 64 props though so we got lucky.'"
Yeah, the way we set up means prop / LF is interchangeable, KPP came on to play middle so Byrne/Ellis/Havard could rotate at prop, Mago came on and did a decent length spell for him, thought he did alright.
We've been keeping O'Neill at hooker bringing Powell back on to help in the middle as well.

| The amount of Wire traffic on this site last week was incredible they all seem to have retreated now. They will all come out of their hiding places when we next meet no doubt.

That only happened because they had no props

| With us having Wakefield next Sunday then away to Hull FC I can see Farrell being rested or benched for both those fixtures.
Smithies returns so we have him, KPP, Isa and possibly Nsemba in the 17 for the back row.
Shorrocks at 6 again for Waney then for HullFC Hampshire off the bench with Shorrocks to 2nd row or bench.
After Shorrocks performances against Leigh, Saints and Wire he is virtually un droppable now.
Three incredible results with each of the opposition teams restricted to six points.

Its certainly an option and brings us another attacking outlet.
Shorrocks has done great the last two games, but he's not a 6. I'd be looking to put him at 13 and move Smithies to SR, but then what do we do with Isa who is also playing very, very well.

| Just play Isa down the Middle he's better there will run at full tilt and defend all game. Without Coops and maybe Singo a pack with Ellis Byrne Havard Smithies Isa Mago can rotate that middle Hill gets a shout against Wakey if a rest is needed.

He’ll be fine Isa. He had a rest on Good Friday and hasn’t been selected in one or two. His face looks like oddly shaped potato at the minute but I doubt he’d have it any other way.

| Wigan deserved to win. Well done.
We never really got into the game - a lot of that being that we weren't allowed to.
I wasn't happy with a few of the decisions but arguing/debating the merits of those doesn't get over the central issue that overall Wigan were better in too many aspects.
The interesting thing for me is how well we go against Saints after our defeat.

Well said Fez, I didn't expect that from you given that you hate Wigan so much.

| I’ve watched the game back and there was one really poor call in the game, which was a missed knock on against Matty Russell, when taking a bomb near his line (it bounced off him, on to a Wigan man and back to him). The Minikin try was 50/50 and meaningless anyway (although I did think it dropped off his arm when I watched it back). The VR didn’t actually look at the best angle for the O’Neill grounding but the last replay on the Sky coverage showed there was no separation and he got downward pressure on it.
There has been too much talk about the decisions (which I’m joining in with). The best team on the night won but should’ve won by many more on the balance of play. The Wire fans were in overdrive moaning at the officials from minute one and were only bettered by Matt Dufty, who doesn’t like being tackled much.
A decent first game between the two this season and I expect there are bigger battles to come and with stronger teams (hopefully).
