and
"there will be no excuses from us being lethargic on Sunday"
and
"We’ll be fit and ready and really challenging Wakefield"
And if he had said, "i have lots of players ill" he would have been accused of making his excuses early.... Can't win can he..

Whatever he said would not have changed the outcome, so why didn't he show a bit of style and simply say well done Wakefield and move on.
There's a few other teams in SL with as many if not more injuries and for a longer period as well, have just got on with the job in hand without having to make excuses by way of a video highlighting your deficiencies under the guise of excuses.

I'm pretty sure he does it just to give people on fans forums, who feel they have some supposed moral high ground something to whine about....

I'd argue that we did at Cas away and Catalans away last year, and Liam Farrell admitted they did during the WCS game this year.

| What would have happened had Wigan refused to field a team based on medical reasons?
Has this happened before?
From the interview with Radlinski it seems we had plenty of evidence to show that players and staff were suffering from a virus, surely there is an argument to say that playing on with a virus would actually cause more damage to the health of the players?
Are there any benefits of fielding a team in these circumstances?

Alternatively I'm pretty sure he does it just to give his own people on fans forums some sort of excuse to defend the abject display of their team, ironically it's not the fans of the team what humiliated you what's taking the high ground, we knew you had injuries and were just grateful for the points. Perhaps a new trend has been set now where when a team loses it releases a video listing possible excuses as the cause

Why don't you just give it up, mate?
We get it. You won. Whoopee. The world turns.
Your team's had all the praise it's going to get, and no matter how hard you try, no Wigan fan is going to admit that being short of 10 first-teamers was no handicap.
So why don't you just put your win behind you and start looking for the next one? It's a long season.

You got to be Wigan for a day and we played the cameo of a team very well, roles reversed perfectly. Enjoy it, enjoy the middle 8's and good luck staying up.

After 20 minutes the game was only 6 - 0 and then came the first interchanges, Mossop and Clubb off replaced by Tautai and Burke. From then on the game just went away from Wigan.
To be fair to Wakefield, they played some great rugby and with the amount of possession they had they took Wigan apart.
With such an inexperienced back line I think Wigan should have gone boring, five drives and a kick and hoped for errors.
I can understand the lack of precision in the attacking side of the game when you are missing four of your biggest metre makers, but that should not transfer to the
defensive/ tackling side of the game.
I hope Radlinski goes in to the young players and reminds them of his first team debut.
On a lighter note, my shower new gel appears to be working. Saints fans who have avoided me for the last three weeks all wanted to talk to me today.'"
I fear that I must now have chickenpox or measles. Those self same "fans" now appear to be avoiding me again!!

Its nice to see the pig-headed arrogance doesn't stop with Mr Wane. Enjoy watching your 4-5 men 'laying on in the tackle' robots, it must be fun.

Out of everyone in this thread the arrogance is coming from you. Wakey won their 'cup final', Wigan on the other hand will now concentrate on getting to actual cup finals.
When's the open top bus parade btw?

| All the noise I heard come from Wigan was about how we'd have struggled to get a win with a full team out. We were missing ten players and many others were struggling with a virus but Waley were brilliant and showed no mercy. They've been on the wrong end of plenty of scores like that and it was their turn so fair play.
They can't seriously think they'd win 62-0 on a normal Sunday afternoon against Wigan with all things being equal though? That isn't arrogant to point that it but is just based on recent history. If they do and they could have then they'll certainly be challenging for all the trophies this year.

The Irony in this post is bursting the %100 level.
Our cup final was Leeds anyway, after all, they did the treble last season.
