There was probably about 100 of them who stood as close as they could to the Huddersfield fans and spent the entire game not watching the football but making aggressive chants at the Huddersfield fans. On the other side of the coin what I presume was the Huddersfield bad lads got as close as possible from the other side of the stewards line and did exactly the same. They all just wasted their entrance money. To be fair there was no trouble but without the stewards and police in the middle there would have been.
This is exactly what we don't get in RL and don't want. It seems to be what the Brigantes are heading towards.
I note that no-one has come on to defend what happened. Is this because the Brigantes took themselves off to their own little members only forum ?'"
Which one of you are my sunshine, que sera sera, vindaloo, bobby bobby give us a wave, are you watching warriors or that Monkees classic i'm a believer was it that you felt was aggressive? Maybe it was the tongue in cheek songs about crowds such as is there a fire drill or enpty seats?
If you're referring to the sheep sh@ggers or wtf are you chants then they're hardly aggressive and have been sung at rugby games since the year dot.

I think you misunderstand. I wasn't saying the Brigantes chants were aggressive. To be honest I couldn't even hear them. I was saying they were heading towards the football scenario as witnessed on the sunday.
I thought that lots of fighting was quite aggressive though. Even the football fans didn't do that .
Do you not ?

I guess that puts an end to the "there's nothing wrong with flares" argument

Thats the same about any report of supporter trouble in rugby league.
- Someone from club A makes a post saying I saw incident X from supporters of club B
- Other fans of club A come on saying disgraceful, club B should be ashamed of themselves
- Fans of club B come on to say remember last year incident Y from supporters of club A
- Other fans of club B come on to say club A is the scum of rugby league
- Fans of club A say no club B is the scum of rugby league
Meanwhile sponsors realise why they sponsor a proper sport in RU with well behaved supporters from better bred sections of society rather than rugby league the game followed by the dregs of society.'"
Agree, though I can't imagine sponsors worry too much about what gets written here.

Poor lad. Hopefully this will see a clampdown on this, frankly, stupid pastime.

I watched the Latics game on the tele on sunday and yeah when Wigan scored the first goal, the camera went to the fans celebrating and the 100 or so you mentioned were giving it the 'big'uns' to the Huddersfield lot.
I watch football myself, as i'm from Cumbria I follow Carlisle and at every match there is the same problem which is why football is so heavily policed nowadays, it's something that has been in football since the 70's and will take a miracle for it to disappear.
The Brigantes seem to be copying behaviour like that, especially what i've seen of them, when they came to Warrington last year I was walking out of the ground after the game and about 12 of them in jackets, jeans and a scarf worn like a balaclava walked past acting all intimidating and shoulder barging every Warrington fan that walked past, including myself.
Hopefully after saturday's incident they have realized how childish and embarrassing they are and they stop what they are doing.

I saw a group of about 12 Wolfs fans wearing tracksuits and hoodies trying to act all intimidating after the game the other week. Kicking parked cars in on the industrial estate. Scumbags they were.
Lets hope the Brigantes hooligans don't "shoulder barge" anyone at the next Warrington game or they'll get banned by the RFL.

Aggressive chants? I wouldn't go that far, I was stood in the "about 100" and there was nothing I haven't heard at a rugby match or anything vaguely aggressive/trouble inciting. Just because a large group of lads choose to stand together and make some noise doesn't mean they're yobs or hooligans. Also, there were no Huddersfield "bad lads", just fans giving banter back, which is a part of football and rugby, like it or not. There's no point playing Latics and Warriors off against each other, there's bound to be a minority of idiots, in this case, The Brigantes, which has nothing to do with Latics fans or the vast majority of Warriors fans.

To be fair that's nothing new. That's the average Warringtonion these days... A hooded top and tracksuit, kicking stuff. Broken Britain...

| Quote: Damo-Leeds "Positive leaders abandoning the Brigantes seems to me the root cause of the groups decline. Maybe if these leaders stuck around then these problems wouldn't have occurred because the group would still of had that positive influence. Instead a good thing has gone bad where the once negative minority now run amok and have greater influence on a group of fans.
I think the old leaders should return to the Brigantes and try to turn the groups fortunes around. If it was a good thing before then it can be a good thing again.
I'll leave it at that..'"
Please return to the 101 inane things. These fans have gone the best part of ten pages having a reasoned and serious debate.

| No flags, drums or chanting in S2 today. Was this done by the club or have the brigantes decided to keep a low profile after last weekend?
