| Quote: WarriorSteve "OMG how many hypocrites roam these sites?
Hands up who was vexed about Wanes selection at Widnes? the Huddersfield performance and many more which at this moment I forget and the backlash that happened on this and other sites...
Wane and the wigan fans as a group can't accept defeat, yet we all know even more so after tonight that the regular season means very little under the top 8 system.
So what do we ALL learn for next season? that we spend the season building for the games that matter even when all seems lost, because that is what Leeds have proved that wins the title. Yes they may be a freak team and fair play to them if they are, but i doubt that they would have been so complacent about their league form if the system was a top two grand final or the previous top 5 system. We need to learn how to play the system.
Sam Tomkins comments after the leeds game still fill me with dread!!
#bloody exiles matches!'"
I am not entirely sure what you are saying here. That the format should be different? I'd agree with that.
That Wane resting players after 6 games v Widnes was right as if it made a God's grain of difference to our end of season form?
The simple fact of the matter is this. You can't expect people to buy season tickets or buy tickets on match day for a 27 round season if it means Jack s h 1 t. As it clearly does.

If tit is the right thing to do and i agree with resting players. Why did he do it on mass when he could have done this over the season. Going all guns is costing us in the final weeks of the season.

| So Wire "rotated" their squad but still came up short?
Leeds have a very experienced set of players, but like Wire are coming to the back end of their careers.
Do either team have the back up to replace the said players, a point I was trying to make before WLA pulled the trigger.

So we're playing for trophies in 5 years rather than now?

No, but the planning has to be in place.

BUT
Nothing can last forever.
This current Leeds side have won 6 GF that's good planning imo.
Sometimes a group of players come along and no amount of planning can compensate for when they go.
I'd argue our current crop is here now but we won't see the benefits from them as IL won't keep them together.

Well they were both in the Academy grand final, which Warrington won.

Is that the one that Wigan won for the previous four seasons?
Do you think Wire or Leeds will win it next year?

In which case you did it extremely badly, bringing up a thread from over three year ago about the number of overseas players in our back line simply to goad and bait fans of other teams.

I don't know enough so I'd have to take your opinion on that.
But on Wire's U20s do you think Wire just had a strong team unit or was it carried by a handful of class individuals? In terms of progressing players through to SL, it would be better to be one with a handful of class individuals. We had a strong Academy in the late 1990s but a lot of the players were so-so apart from Paul Wood, ie Noone, Hulse, Mark Gleeson, Maden, Highton etc.

| Funny thing is even though i've been getting text messages from Wigan, Saints, Widnes, Leeds, Bradford and Keighley fans having a cheek dig, i'm well proud of the lads and i've thoroughly enjoyed this season, ended on a slightly gutting note but it's been fun.
Year of the wolfs? Well we managed one tin pot and were about 30 minutes from another.
Proud to be a Wire

| Think all Wire fans should be proud of their team IMO most consistant team over the year. Won Challenge cup and if not resting players throughout the season and blowing the London game before wembley would have easily finish top as well. They learnt from last year that finishing top of the league does not win the all important grand final as most posters on here will know only too well ! As a club they have now reached the final and experience the different occasion than Challenged cup final. Maybe next year, this years experience will put them in a strong position to go one further. I wish them luck as they are a fantastic club with great fans and a coach and a team that are dignified in defeat unlike some. Maybe next year it will be Warringtons year as you can learn from this years experience.
