I don't care which team he supports - No public figure should be poking fun at a potentially career-threatening injury just because it gives "his team" a better chance of winning a cup this year.
How would the British public react if one of Newcatle's closest rival for promotion, earlier in the season, had lost a player for the whole year and Alan Shearer basically rubbed his hands together on MotD, laughed and said, "Ah well. One less thing for us to worry about then"?
It wouldn't be allowed to happen. So why should it be allowed for a scrote like Beswick to do it?
Bet nothing happens, although a full, public apology should be the very least that he offers.

Agree entirely.
Doesn't tie in too well with the reaction on here to Newton on Long, both at the time and subsequently, but
nobody should revel in injury to another team's player. |
