He’s a good FB and a good centre and for me he’s been superb for us. The past few games he’s been poor - alongside 17 of his teammates. He has self confidence and that’s evident from his comments, and why shouldn’t he?

Let’s have it right there’s only one person to blame for Zak’s and the rest of the teams poor play - Adrian Lam.

I think he made a rod for his own back a few weeks ago with them comments bigging himself up.. just wasn't necessary.

He’s a good player, I agree, with the odd flash of brilliance but in his head he thinks he is superb all the time. Those days are behind him, he needs to knuckle down and concentrate on being a team player instead of a “superstar” but Lam will have a few weeks without him


The quality of the league is poor this year again, and that’s the biggest worry.

The worst part of all this is we'll probably end up with Hanley at full back for a good few weeks.

I wonder if it’s worth giving Smith a run at FB?

Sam Tomkins is a shadow of the player he was a decade ago.

The standard of SL has been tumbling off a cliff for years so it's no wonder he still looks handy.

That's his favoured position and one he has excelled in at academy level. Give the lad a chance.

I know thats his position, but he's not really shone at first team level. TBF you could say that about a few!

Totally agree. I had big hopes for him (and I’m not ready to cast him aside just yet) but he’s nowhere near ready for the first team, especially to start at fullback. I’ve been far more impressed with Sam Halsall when he’s had a chance than Hanley. Sam will be going on loan (Newcastle) I think and I think Hanley needs to go on loan too.
