Quote: Jukesays "And that's why I called him out
I've known him for 15 years, and this will explain it
Hes a Kit Saddo!!!!

Bored me to death enough times about kits/shorts/socks to know this.

And hes got that emotional about the Badge that IMO hes made a grossly over emotional statement.'"

Catastrophic was a tad OTT yes.

And it's "kit afficionado" thank you very much eusa_snooty.gif

Quote: Egg Chasing ""He has done far more good than bad for this club"

Do I agree with everything? No. Do I wish we had someone else? No.

The posters Jukesays is referring to criticise EVERYTHING he does and are unable to see any of the good things (all mentioned in Jukesays post) that he has done. That's the difference.'"

Spot on and that's how I feel about it. I hate everything to do with the new badge, but I'm still a big IL fan and fully supportive of his tenure at the club.

OT, but you have to despair at the lack of centre ground in modern life. There's too many people at opposite poles of opinion, who aren't willing to compromise.

I'm not as angry about the badge now but hat will probably change after a few beers tonight watching the game when Sky use it on their graphics icon_lol.gif

Quote: Jukesays "Why all the negative comments about Ian Leneghan being the owner and Kris Radlinski being the CE?

If we were outside the top four or five clubs and no chance of winning any trophies consistantly it would be understandable. Never mind winning 4 Gfs out of 6 appearances in the last 10 years, 2 challenge cups and a world club challenge.

However, If you take into consideration the covid situation and many other factors , and changing things from the style of management of the previous ownership in what has been a difficult period for many reasons including world wide banking/financial crash, Brexit repercussions and now a Global pandemic, and IL pumping millions of his own money into thr club whilst others do nothing but moan and complain,, plus, overseeing probably the most impressive junior set up the club has ever witnessed which has assisted getting through these difficult periods,he has not done to bad as far as I am concerned.

Carry on IL and KR and don't let the negative comments by a minority get you down

Anyone who cant see the parallels really needs to take their IL and KR bashing spectacles off!'"

Let’s hope so. He really seems to have buckled down now both on and off the field and it seems a fair chance. One thing that worries me a little is Lammy seems to be playing up the chances of Tommy playing on. With French staying and Field coming in, I’d have thought it would be one or the other rather than both Hastings and Tommy staying on. If the club can fit them all in then happy days.

Correct, we've disagreed a few times on here but generally manage to do it civilly at least and see the other's POV. (Apart from when you said I was 12 icon_lol.gif)

You capture my sentiments perfectly

I want opposite views. If they are lucid and backed up with reasoned rationale
I quite enjoy it.
What I don’t want is compliance for an “easy life”. If someone has something to say let them say it as long as it isn’t abusive

If we are not careful we could go down tha Red Vee route where apart from their current coach you see almost no alternative views on a variety of topics

We must be doing something right on here as Yellow Giraffe has returned to his true spiritual home. Welcome back YG

Quote: Pie_Eyter "What Brexit repercussions? Baseless nonsense'"

Well, I think it's a well used opinion that Brexit leaders have gone from a position of
Early 2016 = well be financially better off
Late 2016 = Therell be little difference financially to people
And on an ever decreasing scale until end of 2019 = No one said we would be better off, or well have to take the short term pain etc etc.
The pound has fallen quite heavily against the euro and the dollar which in turn is creating issues. There is also uncertainty over a deal/no Brexit that isnt helping business (and to make it clear business would be better knowing which it is, rather than being in uncertainty).

Now I am guessing that you voted Brexit, fine
You wont need to be a genius to work out which I voted for

I'm not getting I to a discussion here about the rights and wrongs

What I will say is it is absolutely had an effect on all of our lives, livelihoods and will continue to do so whilst there is so much up in the air, like it has been for the last 4 years.

You are clearly intelligent and i would guess a business owner so you would know that the pound was actually on the up before Covid. We shall agree to disagree on this subject though because i suspect we are at completely other ends of the spectrum icon_lol.gif

Back on topic. Yes i think he stays for another 12 months. Bit of an incredible side that on paper when you look at the pivots. French, Hastings, Field and Powell with Smith getting more game time. I would assume that Tommy is retiring. I can't see a way of having 4 halves in the side and keeping them happy. We also have a bit of a problem with Greenwood now. You would think we signed Bateman not only because he is world class but as a replacement for Isa with Isa covering the two second row spots. There has been a lot made of (me included) about Greenwoods heart and aggression. Since lockdown he has been a completely different animal. What i would do for next season is get Lockers to finally call it a day and go with Smithies with Greenwood making the transition from back row to 13 but for him to be on the bench he would have to play prop too because the bench you would assume would consist of 2 props, Smith and Isa. Conundrum.

If we win the LLS the argument - my and others argument - for Lam being released is obsolete. I don’t fancy Lam as our head coach, irrespective of how we’ve been playing recently I just don’t believe he’s the one to take us back to winning the SL/CC.

However, even as in ardent “Lam Outer” I can’t die on that hill if we win the LLS and finish top. It looks, and sounds, ridiculous. He will get another year at the very minimum, whether he wins a GF or not IMO.

The squad itself looks immense for 2021. I’d like to see Flower & Clubb moved on and another prop brought in but on the whole it looks well. I am as excited for next season as I am the end of this season.
