| Definitely take that, a great win in the circumstances.
I was fearing the worst after Salford scored their first try, we looked out on our feet and after they levelled it up there looked like only one winner so to go down the other end and snatch it was a great effort.
Well done
PS, top of the league

| Did well to win that, we are definitely riding our luck as that is now two on the trot we have snatched it at the death.
Our scrambling defence was good for the first hour, however they ripped us apart at times, only good fortune keeping them out (interception take by Gildary with a three on one)...etc.
Our options in their forty look bland, and some of our wayward passing was abysmal. We certainly dont look like a team that could score 30-40 points regardless of opposition.
Will definitely take the two again though.
Positives? Thought our wingers looked sharp, Tierney played well, Bateman his usual brilliant self and Tautai looked strong in attack.
7/10

| It was a good result. We ground out a win in the end.
Salford put us under a lot of pressure especially in get second half. They lifted massively when Logan came on, meanwhile we had little impact off the bench. Our back 3 were very good.
Salford will blame the ref but he was so poor for both sides. And his linesmen.

Not sure what the ref was like over the 80 mins but the knock on he missed at the play the ball for the winning try was shocking.

Tautai? Not sure he actually dropped it, I flight he did though as well.
There was a dodgy PTB right before Salford's last try too.

It was a blatant knock on. They showed it on SKY a few times.
You know it's dodgy when even Phil Clarke says Wigan "got away with that."

| It went t!ts up when Faz got pinged for offside on their line. That was a game changer when we were looking comfortable. Poor decision.

Snatching at the death having been 12-6 and 16-2 before having to snatch it. That's my frustration on radio tonight, we need to deal with good positions by being clever rather than daft.
Great result though. I don't think Salford are a mug side anymore. They put in a good effort. Threw a lot at Tierney, which he dealt with, and to be fair 16-2 was harsh for them to be only 2. Wigan defended the try line well though for an hour.

All that we seemed to do in the second half was to defend our line. We seriously lack some quality, the team doesn't have any X factor

I agree Bilko.
It has been a good and bad feature of our season so far. Yes we have won three games on the bounce - a fantastic start to the season and the best in Wane's tenure. However we have been in position in each game when we should have killed the game off. Les Catalans - 12/6 - not going for a drop goal. Tonight letting Salford back in it at 16 - 2 and having to win at the death. Huddersfield away, Lockers throwing a class ball to sneak it at the death. Our game management needs to improve going forward. Credit where due though, we have shown great tenacity in all 3 wins to be very ordinary in our performances but grinding out the results. All three games could have gone either way for me.

If you mean when he chased the kick to the left corner I think he was in front of the kicker.

| Couldn't get to the game tonight due to work commitments but caught a bit on the radio.
A good result considering the relatively short turnaround from the Brisbane game.
I believe that Tierney played well particularly in attack which if true then I'm pleased for the lad.
My son told me the referee was pretty awful and must agree with YG that the knock on for our last try was blatant and the ref and touch judge should go to Specsavers this weekend.

The defence was tenacious but our attack and decision making was woeful. Passing? Well it was dire. If balls weren't looping like balloons, that were going behind players, in too fast or to the deck. At least twice we tried to stupid stuff in our own 20m and gave the ball away.
An example of the poor decision making was Gelling at the end of the first half. 34 seconds on the clock (I looked up when he got the ball, I must have a sixth sense something was going to go wrong..). He's on the right, not much room on the 4th tackle (I think). Time for another PTB at least. What does he do? Puts in a totally naff kick on the 4th and runs straight into the Salford player. They get the ball and get right up the other end of the pitch and are tacked a foot short of the line in front of the sticks and the hooter goes. If it hadn't we were wide open to the right. Where was his brain? If you aren't going to score in the last 30 seconds don't give the ball away and instead make sure you keep the opposition down the other end!

If Gelling doesn't play tonight we lose. I understand the point you make but I do feel you like to highlight the negatives but not acknowledge the positives his style brings to the table.
I would go so far as to say we're it not for him rather than being 3 for 3 we would be 1 for 3, which is probably a more accurate outcome based on performances thus far.

He brings great positives but quality players don't waste those by bad decision making. Not at a club the standard of Wigan anyway.
He offloaded near his own try line at a 26-24 inside last 10 mins v Hull last September. Lucky to get away with it. Mad given game situation.
He offloaded under his own posts v Saints last September which cost a try and he got benched not only for that match but for the season.
He offloaded in his own quarter at 12-6 up late in the game v Hudds that led to us going 13-12 down.
And I agree with DaveO that was a nonsense kick given the game clock at the time. Unneccesary for game management reasons i mentioned above. Could have been 10-8 half time.
I wasn't on his back so much tonight myself but all that is from his last FIVE Super League appearances. Could of added in two kick off errors v Catalan or Huddersfield also. I think it could be said we could be 1 from 3 easily for the opposite reason you suggest. I really want him to do well and show his attacking quality and shut my critcism up but I'm adamant he has got to be cutting out those kinds of stupid daftness, especially as he is now a fifth year pro.
I suppose though it's glass half full or half empty judging our two posts.
For what it's worth, the first centre on my team sheet is Gildart if it comes down to it. Excellent in the main tonight. Two good tries, dealt with the difficult task of Justin Carney reasonably well. Not bad for a rookie!
