Quote: wardleyred "ermmm i wouldnt say we were terrible!! i thought u looked rather average after a hard game last week and we gave u a good run for your money!if you had have seen us against saints 2 weeks back ..then that was TERRIBLE!!..bit of credit please'"

No credit from me except for Rachford and Patten. You droppped the ball about 90% of the time when you had a good opportunity. A stronger team would have beaten us well tonight, us on top form would have blown you off the park completely. I was much more impressed with you last year than I was tonight.

Couldnt make the game tonight but delighted with the win, I wasnt really bothered how we performed tonight as long as we got the two points. Thats the main thing, now bring on Hull!

Quote: pie eater and proud of it "Have to say I gree with Cherry.Pie...... thought Marsh didnt have a good time at all tonight.

Yes he has speed, but he made some poor errors in defence.

Still, a young lad with plenty to learn, he will come good hopefully.'"

Agreed. Thought he was very poor again tonight.
No wonder Goudling kept coming in from the wing, when you have Marsh as your centre you ain't gonna see the ball.

Didn't pass one ball all night.

Typical Wiganer never give anyone any credit, yes we might of dropped 90% of the ball tonight but considering your Champions of Super League and have a much better squad than us you wouldn't expect anything less than a win for Wigan. But imagine if we didn’t bomb our chances and concede those sloppy tries we probably would of come close to winning the game because in my point of view Wigan didn't play like a champion side tonight and haven’t done so far this season, and you forget we have near enough a complete new team this year 11 went out 8 came in, give us time to gel and then let’s see what we can do.

You just proved my point exactly. I thought Wigan were bad tonight, and Salford should have beaten them if they were at the races. But luckily you were even worse than us!

One day you might play in a World Class game and then have to back it up five days later......see how you sharp are then?!!

In regards to Marsh, I was just basing his performance tonight on his previous first team performances, thought he was much improved.

Yes but like I said before we have a lot of new faces in our camp we need matches and time to gel, we also had 4 major players out for us which would of helped us dramatically, even a full strength Salford side would of had to play well to beat the Champions so without them we did even better.

cant believe the arrogance of some pie eaters on here, yes we know your super league champs, you were not good enough last week and only had 5 day turnaround(just like us)we had a captain out,did bomb chances and a better team would have prob beat you tonight,i dont recall many seasons ago when it was the other way round at our place!!you will prob be in final again, but my money is on the wire to topple you, thanks for boosting the gate and learn to get behind your side without a frigging drum!!all the best

5 days is enough isn't it? And come on you only played Salford you should of murdered us? Saints and Crusaders did why did you fail? The Super League trophy will be heading out of the DW in October there are 2 maybe 3 other teams better than Wigan this year. Huddersfield, Warrington, Saints.

Quote: Cherry.Pie "I was going to say the opposite. I think he looks like he's got a lot of work to do to make it at this level. He just seems to slip off tackles far too easily and never passes the ball. The only time he looked dangerous was when he just had to keep hold of the ball and sprint.'"

The lads a winger without doubt for me. He just never lifts his head whilst in possession and his first up tackling isn't strong enough. I trust Maguire and Wanes judgement fully and they obviously see something in him but he's had a slow start to his first team career and he'll need to improve an awful lot if he's going to hold down that right centre spot.

As for the game tonight it was a case of job done. We weren't great by any stretch but a wins a win and we move on. The fact that we could win a game tonight pretty easily whilst playing nowhere near our best shows the problems we face when it comes to competing with sides like St George. We aren't pushed hard enough week in week out to be forced into getting all the 'little basics' right.
