That's a squad with 23 players who have first team experience plus eight to make their debut. No doubt those eight will be training with the first team full time.
That's a large squad and Maguire infers numbers will not mean a lot it will be down to form and performance.
His squad selections for each game will be worth waiting for as he will be giving younger players their opportunity in the first team.

I hope your not being sarcastic because the above is very true.
Squad numbers don't tell us much with MaGuire in charge now. They will count for very little I would imagine. It is very pleasing to see so many homegrown/trained players in the squad. 20/31 is a fantastic effort. |

Games as big as Grand Finals define individuals and clubs. Remember, we only rent these journeys. In my time I had Pat Richard's shirt. Ellery Hanley had Sean O'Loughlin's jersey. Sam Tomkins is wearing Radders' number one jersey. Andy Coley is wearing Shaun Wayne's jersey. You have to make a mark in these shirts before you hand it down to someone else. Hand it back. So be aware for 80 minutes that you are not only playing, but you are also writing history and creating legacy. How many people actually write history - not many? A big stage demands big players…..INSPIRE YOUR TEAM MATES.

im i little suprised to be honest about the numbers, dont think joel deserves 12 ahead of bailey, chuffed for harrison and phelps, gleeson is understandable, i dont get feka though number 17, it doesnt seem right for a prop, might be a kick up the though what he needs,or is it a sighn that mm doesnt want him in his starting or even squad next year

Really versatile and strong squad. Its great to see the youngster making their way through at Wigan. I think you have one of the strongest three-quarter lines in the league although our pack is still not as strong as some of the big boys. I think you will be 3rd or 4th next year and we'll hopefully see young Joe Mellor a bit.
