Took my two lads who are 5 and 7 to Shuddersfield last week for the combined price of £0, as primary age kids are free. £11 really is incredibly bad marketing from the club.'"
I'd agree with that - given that taking a 5-10 year old means weeks and weeks of taking them to slowly get them to pay their attention to the match rather than kicking the seats/demanding Quavers etc £11 a pop is simply not worth it. Sad really as I'd happily take my two to plenty of games.

| Fair play to IL for the price freeze, but with no signings and no coach, I dont see how they can put them up!
The kids prices should apply to all stands, thats the only way to get them in. I want to start taking my nephew but the cost isnt worth it.

Appreciate that side of things mate.
It's something i supppose that needs to be looked at.
I can't help that feel at 26quid they should badger their mates into getting them aswell. When i was 12-16 ish and at school(around 96-99ish) the season tickets used to be about 30 quid and loads of lads used to get them.
Just wish i was still eligible to get one

We are in the South stand, would like to move to the East, but with two kids, not going to happen. Even £50 for kids in the East would be OK, but nearly 4x the price means the club will miss out on some extra cash.

| I've just rang up to buy a new season ticket, seems they don't want my money.
Said they've not received confirmation they can sell new business yet, even acknowledged the programme suggested I could. Was told I could try again mid week.

| Brilliant news.......but £26 isnt a £1 a game, if you dont go away...its £2 a game. Still cheap imo.
Cracking idea about if you dont go to a game you can take a friend at a later date.
so thats celtic and salford being given a miss, and a spare ticket for leeds ans saints going for a fiver for all the young entrepeneurs out there.
there will also be a lucrative market for away vouchers.
you buy a season ticket for £26, sell the away voucher book to a student (my 18 yr old still gets in free at away games with my 3 yr oldds free vouchers) for £25.......make a tenner on the leeds and saints games, and you get to watch 11 home games free, and make £9 profit.
i'll have a dozen

Because it's a nightmare trying to watch the game when you have to get up every other minute to let em past because they cant sit still for more that 5mins. It's good that they are trying to attract more younger fans but I can see why they're trying to confine it to the South.

| Also, is it just me or does a full price season ticket work out dearer than paying on the day. For example West Stand Gold pay on the day = £20 West Stand Gold Full-Price ST £285 - That's £25 dearer than if you were to pay on the day £20 x 13 = £260 ???

13 games for the price of 14 and a bit. Is that called a unique selling point?
Also take into account if they do another 'big one' they'd be getting ripped off even more.
Just looked at the other stands. It works out the same - £25 more for getting a season ticket after the early bird deadline.

Well if the club wants to attract a younger set of fans it's not going to do it if parents who want to sit elsewhere than the south stand have to pay the prices they do.
It isn't particularly hard to get your kids to behave if you go as a family unless of course the parents just let the kids do as they please with disregard for anyone else.
My son was 5 when he started going and he certainly wasn't jumping up every five minutes. We switched to the popular stand for the last season at central park so he could have a seat and the regulars sat in that stand were really pleased to see a little lad turn up and looked out for him each week. He's been a season ticket holder ever since.

You also get your guaranteed seat, a ticket for an early round CC game if at home and first choice for match tickets for finals or play off games.
It's not a great deal of benefit for your £25 but then I don't leave until after the early bird renewal date and as I said earlier I signed up for 2010 this year so should get a further discount, so it is cheaper than pay on the day.
