Poor old deluded Wigan believe they are still the greatest club ever

it seems to me that it is the wigan haters that have a thing about wigan being the best, believe me wigan fans don't think that.
i used to take my son watching the great wigan teams, and he would be unlucky if he saw wigan lose three times a season, he now believes we are crap.
he now has to drag his son to the JJB because his son and most of his mates know that this team and the teams over the last 5 years have been rubbish.

We haven't become a laughing stock - we've been one for years.

Most rational people will have seen that we've been mismanaged for most of this decade and given the resources at our disposal have serially and seriously underperformed for a good number of years.

We've been missing three key apsects for most of the last five years that we'll need if we are to hope to challenge consistently again:

1. Leadership (not had it since Faz left)
2. Creativity (had it for a couple of seasons with Barrett)
3. A set of prop who put the fear of God into the opposition (not had it since the days of Smith/O'Connor/Pongia)

No don't worry Hull Fc have saved you from reaching that title we are far worse and more of a laughing stock in the rugby league world at the moment

You'd be ok if you just played us every week, it appears to be one of the few games you are "up for"

It's the same at every other club in your league I am sure. If you go down to aus and ask who the biggest club are they will say Wigan. Go to france and ask there, they will say Wigan. Ask the general public on this country and most will say Wigan. There are Wigan supporters all over the place. We are still the Man U or Real Madrid of the game but we have a naff team.

Useless coach and lazy no good players

Grade A license,a great stadium, a great fan base and a board who take the out of us..

1. Paul Cooke (not signed his contract)
2. Thackery (not registered for CCup)
3. Our Ausse imports (no Crocker, maybe not clubs fault) (Luaikai god knows where he is?)
4.Coach who does not even understand the concept of interchange/gameplan or anything really
5.THIS YEARS GOAL NOT TO FINISH 2ND TO BOTTOM, IT LOOKS LIKE WE MAY FINISH 3RD FROM THE BOTTOM!!

It is this attitude that is holding you back...You have to accept the game has moved on, and actually do something about it, instead of believing you have a God-given right to be the best.

Yes, you are a famous name, but it is all about your past ...You have all these splendid facts about your great history, and I certainly acknowledge its a great history, but unfortunately for you, the others caught up and overtook you.

Personally, I have great affection for Wigan...Growing up in the 70's as a Wire fan, I used to love the whole rivalry of the Wire-Wigan games and it actually saddens me when I see childish arguments break out on here among fans, because I seem to have this rose-tinted view that our rivalry was once almost respectful....

Of course, I always want to see Wire beat Wigan, but I would never describe you as a laughing stock....I just think some of you need to realise that the RL world doesn't start and finish in Wigan.
