| Great interview on BBC tonight. Very interesting to hear what he had to say about coping with the pressure - he said he thrived on it.
Everything Wiggins said about what he did sounded so strong psychologically. If he's coming to the DW we need to get him to talk to the players about how you deal with pressure and how you go about putting together a series of big performances.
Very interesting to hear about the transition he's made now from being someone who wasn't particularly famous in the UK before to being a massive star in the UK.
As for the comments on whether he should get a knighthood or not, knighthoods have been given to people to recognise exceptional achievement in their field for a very long time.
I don't see why achievement in sport at the level of a Wiggins, Hoy, Redgrave or a Holmes should not be recognised by a knighthood/damehood. These are people who have incredible natural talent but have also shown incredible dedication and commitment to their sport and are inspirational role models for the young and great ambassadors for this country.

| Be good to see him at the Saints match at home, that will give the players enough time to grow their side burns.
He did admit to supporting Liverpool, on that basis he should NOT be Knighted

| Cockney Pie - He should be a Bronco.
Typical 80's sports fan, Liverpool and Wigan. Glory chaser with no connection to either.
I dont expect Lennegan to miss out on an opportunity to be photograghed with him.

He lives in ecclestone so the closest team to him would be Wigan. And he was born in Belgium. Bit of a mixed bag.

His wife is a Wiganer. His son is a mad keen Sam supporter, which means he's a Wigan fan.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubblegum.
Don't you struggle. Don't you fight. Don't you worry, cause it's your turn tonight!

| Watching a video on the BBC site where Wiggins interrupts the football last night, Bradley was wearing a Panerai. Perhaps I was a little quick denying him a Knighthood.
Anyone currently watching BBC1 will see Mark Cavendish sporting a rose gold Audermars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore.(Correction - it's a steel rubber clad ROO). Who say's cycling doesn't pay.

2572.jpg Ah, good taste!
What a dreadful thing!
Taste is the enemy of creativeness.

I don't know who DOES say that?
Even before his TDF victory, Wiggins was earning a reputed £1.5m p.a. I would imagine Cavendish would be on similar.
So almost the entire Communist Cap for an RL team then......

| It pays at the very top, not many in the earning league of Cav and Wiggo. 60K per race for the couple of crits that Cav has done since the Olympics, sponsorship opportunities will be huge now. I rode The Etape a few weeks ago, cycling is all over the papers in France and Europe in general, way bigger than here. Wiggins was probably not known by all that many until the last couple of weeks in UK, hence he could go to the rugby un spotted. Bet that won't happen again! Good on him.

He stands outside school picking his lad up, goes to the Farmers arms in Eccleston and walks around Tesco in Chorley with ease. Dont think that will be the case when he gets back. His school run will not be the same, but it will soon calm down. I know the school cant wait for re opening, all the kids whished him luck when they closed for summer as part of a doccumentory on him.
