Don't see the problem with staged payments if it is a planned thing rather than a panic measure. It was down to it being a panic measure we ended up in the state we have and of course due to the "credit note" being staged over four years.

That said I am sure this latest Cooper rumour is a red herring. If there was even a remote chance he was coming this year the club would not have signed Carmont IMO until the proposed deal with Cooper was defintely a no-goer.

Look mate its nothing special to beat Wigan to the signature of a player, every body does it now a days.

Which is good in many ways because it means that when the price gets too high, Wigan pull out. A tactic which should have been employed some time ago.
