| What an awesome debut, I had tears in my eyes at one point. I have been readily awaiting this for absolutely ages. After watching 18s and reserves regularly and then his call up for england academy, I just knew we had something special and was so excited yesterday when I realised he was in the starting team.
Yeah he may not have had the best positioning of where he put the ball down, but that try was one of the most exciting I had seen at the JJB in a long time.
Just hope that Sam's regular callup to the first team isn't too far away. The one thing you can't take away from the lads is their passion to play for wigan.
I am praying that the visas for our current new crop of aussie players are withdrawn, can't believe that people said that smith had an awesome game last week and in the space of a week its reduced to the crap we had to watch last night. Even roberts didn't impress me.
Pryce did though, he is really gonna be a handfull when he is fully fit, he reminded me of Graeme West with his running style, his hand offs were brilliant and that tackle he made on the wing made me so glad it wasn't me running down it.

| Pryce knocked him almost into the stand
As for Ainscough, superb young talent. Similar to Carney and Dallas (when we challenged to win things!). Hope he gets a good run in the team, but I'd put my money on Noble dropping him and bringing in Phelps when he's fir again.
You can see the Wigan lads play with their hearts on their sleeves when they get picked. The desire to win is there.
Something interesting also that I heard on SL extra last night:
Stevo: It is widely known that Wigan haven't replaced Barrett
Eddie: They haven't replaced Andy Farrell either..

| One word to describe Ainscough last night [sizeAWESOME[/size
I am glad to see a winger who has the confidence to back himself on the outside, and have the ability score. This is what we have been lacking. Keep it up Shaun. Don't ever lose that confidence. He is going to be a great.
IL don't let the RU or anyone else poach him.
Now we just need Sam to get a shot next week.

I think last nights performance by Ainscough might have paved the way for S. Tomkins. He proved that the younger players are good enough, hungry enough and most importantly read to step into our team. Another thing get Pat back at Full back & Phelps, Riddell, Roberts & Mathers will never get a game again for me.
1. Richards
2. Ainscough
3. Carmont
4. Bailey (cause Goulding can't tackle / sorry mate)
5. Pryce
6. S. Tomkins
7. Smith
9. Leuluai

The same Roberts we just signed on a 4 year deal? I he's as bad as you think we've got a bloke sat on his 'arris collecting 4 years' wage for jack.

The guy so far this year is a joke, we should drop him into the academy teach him, how to tackle, kick, and catch a ball. When he does catch the ball he just walks into the arms of the chasers. The guy is crap. another has been who will probably keep either Ainscough or Pryce out when Richards comes back. Sack him now or drop into the reserves untill he is up to speed I couldn't care less just keep him away from the first team.

Back then though we had a Botica, so it was 6 points anyway.
But we have Paaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat

Instead he gave Roberts a difficult kick and we were still two points behind.
Another point from last night was Ainscoughs disallowed try in the first half was never forward. I saw the replay three times after the game.'"
That pass didn't even look dubious! Perfectly good try ruled out.

Agreed, but to be honest with Roberts kicking record he should have kicked a few of the ones his missed last night.
The Tim Smith pass to Ainscough was outstanding and was never forward in a million years.

He should, so should Riddell but he was closer to the corner flag and nearly put his back out!

| Replace the Mark Calderwood song to Sean Ainscough.
Jason Robinson in disguise, cracking debut and could have had a hat trick if it wasn't for "the forward passes".
Do people now see how sh*t Phelps is in comparison to Ainscough and other players he's keeping out the squad?
If he's fit he should start again against Harlequins.
