| Lam's reaction essentially is 'Dont understand it, we were out-enthused, we'll review it.'
I dont actually think we were out enthused - that seems a bit of a cop out to me. They dominated territory as they had bigger, stronger forwards and a halfback who kicked intelligently. We fatigued and it got worse and worse. Leeds played a faultless wet weather game btw - they were great.
O'Loughlin had a disastrous day - gave away four points early and dropped a ball when we got a rare set in their half.

As daft as it sounds looking at the score that dropped ball by Lockers was a massive moment in the game.
We had an opportunity to get the momentum in the initial arm wrestle and build pressure.
We literally were never in the game again after that point.

Was that not Bullock or am I thinking of a different moment? After we get an offside penalty?

It was Locky unless I’m losing my marbles.

Just watched it back on fast forward, you're right he did. I was thinking of a different moment later on where we're 16-0 down. Get a big pressure relieving offside penalty after making about 20 metres in four tackles. Get the ball in their half and Bullock overruns the pass and drops it as a result.

| Lam's 50th game in charge today. He has a win % of 62.
I'm not sure that that is good enough for a club chasing trophies and certainly isn't for a club like Wigan.

The Locky one we were in the initial field position struggle it was 0-0 and we put Leeming into touch (illegally in my opinion) in there 40 meter zone.
Locky dropped the ball soft on the second tackle.
Leeds scored off the set and we couldn’t arrest there momentum for the rest of the half.

Probably says a lot but I thought he was one of our better players today. He was aggressive in defence and we only really had defending to do.
I’ve said many times, there is enough quality in this squad to compete for trophies but under Lam we haven’t even competed for trophies, let alone come close to winning any.
If Lam is here next season it’ll be pretty depressing.

| You only have to look at how Salford are still competitive at the moment against favourites who have had the lions' share of possession. Puts us to shame.

| I said when we signed Bibby I didn’t see the sense in it. He doesn’t improve our squad and does nothing Hank can’t. That being said both aren’t good enough for a side challenging for honours year on year. They’re the type of player that’d be drafted in for injury cover but dropped again shortly after. I’m not saying we don’t need that type of player as we do but two of them? One has to go.
The club is being run poorly behind the scenes by Lam and we’re being coached poorly. Our whole ethos is that of an U7’s side - give it to French and let him score. We played well versus 2 scratchy sides in Hull and Catalans, we heaped praise on the team and rightly so, we were good but Leeds showed us today what we really are.
5 derby defeats on the bounce, 3 semi final losses (and bad ones at that), poor coaching decisions, poor team selections and what looks like so far, poor signings. Everything points to Lam needing to go for the good of the club. I wanted it to work out for him, I really did but it’s clear it isn’t going to happen. I’ll give him credit where it’s due in the work he’s done with the youngsters, they’ve come on leaps and bounds but that isn’t enough to save him. It feels like our ‘Keiron Cunningham’ moment; we’re not exactly doing bad but not good either. For a club like ours, as it is at St Helens, it just isn’t good enough.

Yeah I'm with you on that now. Salford in the play offs last year followed by Leeds today in the cup are really bad ways to exit competitions. Not even being competitive against teams we were favourites to beat.

I disagree in relation to quality in the squad.
We won’t win anything without a total overhaul of our Props.
No quality there at all.
Fair bit of potential with a couple of lads but no real quality.

I don't think Lam has much to do with the signings but other than that I agree. He's out-coached every time we come up against a decent side and looks to have no clue what to do about it.

The issue I have is that we’ve never played well consistently under him but we’ve done enough to drag some results out the fire. In the weekly rounds that isn’t a great deal different to how we played under Wane but when the time came under Waney you could literally see the switch flick and we had our game heads on. Under Lam we actually fall off in big games because the opposition step up the intensity and we seem incapable of doing so. I had a bit of hope after Catalan and Hull that maybe we could still do it but there were still nagging doubts and it’s crashed down like a ton of bricks today.
Lenagan/Rads need to get the search started now ready for next season. Unless they’ve been totally blinded by Rads love in with Lam, then they’ll have been looking already.

Would you promote from within the club, recruit another SL coach or look to the NRL? I'd be talking to James Ford over at York, Ian Watson at Salford (not sure he would leave), not sure who is available in the NRL.
