At the end of the day, Briers at his peak and Sam at his peak are never going to be on the same field so in terms of who I'd want in my team, it's Sam all the way. Briers wasn't overrated in his day, but that day I think has passed.

The signing of Myler will boost his game IMO.

He's still got that quick thinking to see things others can't including Tomkins.

Briers has the brains. He is one of the smartest rugby players in the league. He just doesn't have the tools to physically to match his mental abilities anymore. If he can get as much of his Rugby brain into Myler's head over the next year or two Myler would come on leaps and bounds.

You watch Tomkins off the ball and you will see how silly you have made yourself look.

I agree his legs aren't as quick as they were but he's still a great kicker and still knows where the try line is.

Myler has the speed and I think we will see alot of Briers putting Myler into the gaps this season, the two of them playing together will only get better.

Brier's is better at seeing the game for me, it you don't agree thats up to you but I think your way off the mark on Briers.

Whereas our halfback pairing can play individually and don't need the other in order to play their game.

You said Tomkins doesn't have that quick thinking, but he clearly does. I am not saying he can read a game like Briers yet but that can only come with more experience.

At the minute I worry about Briers, the new signings and the Challenge Cup win seems to have given him a new lease of life.

He won that Cas game single handedly for Wire, and we HAVE to shut him down if we are to win on Sat. Simple.
