To be fair, as an opposition supporter I still worry when O’Loughlin is on the field. Even tonight he was the one who looked most likely to make something happen, even though it didn’t come off.
Obviously you see him every week, but I wish he would retire....

| Quote: NickyKiss "The hard part for Lam is that he has no credit in the bank, no form or history as a head coach. He was given a huge amount of slack last year because we hadn’t invested properly in the squad and suffered injuries but those excuses have gone. Even during the good run last year, we never looked slick or well drilled, we never looked like we had a style of play. It’s very early days this year but the signs look poor to say the least. He hasn’t learned from the play offs in terms of personnel and we still look like it’s our first few games under Lam. The spine is different granted and that buys Lam some time to get it right but I wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger come Easter, if things still look as directionless.'"
Again, I’m not watching Wigan every week but if Bevan French is a better full-back than Zak Hardaker, Lam must be seeing something I am not. Yes, French is a great player, but he would offer as much from the wing as he does from full-back, whereas Zak’s defensive ability is completely lost at centre.

I will be surprised if he gets to Easter
I honestly don’t know what we do in training. Slow in everything we do, no attacking ideas and no tempo to our play.
Crabbed a win v Wire and outplayed by a Cas team without 7 or 8 first teasers

I always feel like we get no tempo and no momentum because we have no go forward in us. I shudder to think how easily a full strength Saints or Hull pack would run over the packs Lam is turning out.
Either he changes his approach or the end of the road will come at some point because his forward selections as they stand will not win enough games.

Hardaker isn’t the player you watched at Cas in 2017 though, he’s lost a yard or more of pace and offered very little threat from fullback last year. I don’t think just being a sound option in defence is enough in the modern day.

Fair point. He certainly doesn’t look as sharp as he did in 2017 and has put on quite a bit of ‘bulk’. He was always pretty scrawny, but seems to put on a lot of muscle since joining Wigan.
To be honest, he looks like a very average centre.

| Might just be wound up after that performance but I really don’t get this idea of playing so many young forwards all in one go. It didn’t work last week and tonight we had no punch again what so ever.
Who would want to be in a creative player in a team that can never make any yards to earn the right to play with the ball...so frustrating to watch...surely the club can see this issue?

I personally don’t feel Lam is the coach for us and the sooner IL realises it the better.'"
I said this after last week but was met with resistance. We were poor last week and should of put a 12/11 man Wire to the sword but instead we scraped past them with a typical error strewn Lam performance. Jackson Hastings is looking as lost as George Williams did already. The off the ball player movement is awful under Lam, its so easy to defend against.

A full strength Saints or Hull would put 50 on us.
A workmanlike Cas totally outplayed us for enthusiasm
He won’t change because he can’t .
I can only assume that Clubb has some tasty photos of IL

Agent Millward wouldn't have picked Clubb.

Lenegan doesn't sack coaches. At best he will be looking best to replace for next season. This is bearing in mind it all goes tits up this year. Its early days and it's still time for Lam to get things right.

Thats because he is a very average centre, Hardaker is best at fullback, where he was pretty darn good by seasons end last time out

Yes I understand your point re IL sacking but he’s backed a pup in Lam and I can only see things getting worse when we get the inevitable injuries .
Lose next week and owd IL will have twitchy bum time
Matty do you honestly believe that Lam knows what is wrong let alone fix it?

| Quote: NickyKiss "Hardaker just referred to Bullock as ‘Mr Always late’ on a social media post. Either he’s being wound up over the rumour of his time keeping which is going about or it seems to have legs.
If it’s true and it’s hindering his chances of getting picked then Bullock really needs to have a word with himself. It’s a pitiful way of risking career progression.'"
..... a few pages later and it starts getting taken as fact that he's dropped over training punctuality, when for all we know it could just as easily be a sarcastic joke about him always being early, or this rumour, or turning up late for nights out, or late tackles!
The players need to think about who they're letting view their social media. I can't readily think of any positives that have come from our players having random fans on their social media accounts, but we've already had this and the Hastings thing blowing up on the negative side.
