| Quote: MattyB "Apparently Saints fans on twitter whinging that their team is "decimated" yet 12 of their first 17 squad shirts are on the field.
1, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16
Bench - 15, 17
Missing - 2, 3, 4, 7, 11
Surely their world class Academy lads should be filling in and at least competing with Salford. They were unconvincing last week too!'"
Don't forget that Hurrell is their first choice centre and he plays in No. 23.

So it wasn't Saints worse performance in four years? Salford should have done the double.

| Must be difficult for them being the best team in the world and only losing or playing badly when they have an off day and the opposition have the game of their lives. Seems to be happening more and more. Maybe they just aren't THAT good and are now finding out what it's like to have injuries in key areas like everyone else has had.
Oh and Walmsley is done. He hasn't had a good game all season and is just plodding through games. From being stand out to also ran in the space of a few months. He is playing like someone with imminent retirement on their mind for me.

Saw a list of comments on Twitter from Saints fans all about injuries and one stood out. It just said ‘jeez, we’re having it rough with injuries this season’ and I just can’t help but wonder if they don’t realise that they’re still having a decent time of it compared to some other sides. Look at HKR the other night, 14 missing going in to the game and 4 more going down during the game. Hull missing 12 or so for a few games a month or so ago, Leeds consistently having 8,9,10 players missing. Huddersfield naming 18 man squads, Salford naming only 19 today and so on. We’ve had a fair year of it as well and can be pretty pleased but we probably have as many missing as Saints currently. The lack of injury problems in the last 3 or 4 seasons have spoilt them.

| Hello everyone, I'm just back from the moon. I left just before the season started and all the media pundits were saying that Saints were going to go the whole season and not lose a game. Can you bring me up to speed, is that how it's panning out?

| Happy for Salford, Lafai and Croft are exactly what you want from quota players.
Watkins also playing great and brilliant to see Sarge back.
Hope you’re all including Lomax in Saints injury list! They always include him even though he’s been ever present since his season ending injury.
Saints will be fine though. Frustrating that if we’d have held on at Magic we’d now be sitting top.
Also long May Woolf play Roby in the halves, if he stays there for the rest of the year we’ll win the GF.

| When we lost to Leeds I was thinking that Saints wouldn’t lose in such a manner but it sounds like they got a bit of a hiding today.
Credit to Salford, sounds like the ex Wigan contingent did well and Saints exposed by the speed outside.

| Without making this Saints vs Wigan, the best example I can think of is 2017.
In 2017, Castleford were by far the best team in the league. They finished top, they were admired by all and played free flowing rugby. They were great to watch but they ran out of steam and lost the Grand Final to a Leeds team who surged at the right time. Some blame on Hardaker for upsetting the applecart (being banned and missing is an obvious disadvantage but the disruption to the other players cannot be quantified)
History is unkind to Cas, and now 5 years later the GF win by Leeds is the thing that’s remembered and the domination of Cas through the season is a faded memory.
I don’t know if anyone who feels that Leeds were the best team that season, except maybe Leeds fans…..

10 out of 10 for having the gonads to come on here.
But if 2022 has taught us anything it's that no-one is guaranteed a shot at the final.
We know that already. Now you lot do too.
