| Quote: Cruncher "The irony is that I find Saints one of the better places to go to in that regard. I've certainly had more friendly banter with Saints fans than with others.
Most clubs have their quota of idiots. Sometimes you notice an upsurge when that club are doing well, presumably because they then start attracting rag-tag and bob-tail. For example, I'd never come across as many obnoxious pillocks from Leeds until they started doing well in the late Noughties. Bradford were the same during Bullmania (after the 2003 Grand Final, I witnessed the worst behaviour by opposition fans that I've ever seen in my life). But some clubs seem to be permanently saddled with idiot camp-followers. Warrington have long been the worst for that, in my experience - the only time I've ever seen fighting outside Wembley, but Leigh ran them a close second back in the day (will be interesting to see in 2017 if the Leigh goons have grown up, but I wouldn't put money on it).
Over in Yorkshire, I think Cas have long been the worst of the the smaller Yorkshire clubs. I can never remember the sort of innate hostility at Wakey or Featherstone that seems to be the norm at Cas. Not sure why. Perhaps they've experienced more success than the others, and so get more cheesed off when they lose. Who knows?'"
This is all correct. Us and Saints have a healthy bitter rivalry (if that makes sense) i can walk into a St Helens pub on match day and don't feel like i am in fear of a glass on the back of the bonce. You will get some snide comments of course but for the most it is all in good jest. I enjoy sharing the rivalry with them. Leeds are ok for me but with a population they have you have to expect their fair share of numpties but again the majority are fine. Warrington are a total disgrace, by far and away the worst in the league and have been for some time but if it was a toss up between Cas and Wakey it's too close to call. If wakey got a few more in attendance i would say they would be worse than Cas. Both Hull clubs have their fair share too but Hull KR are a lot worse than FC. We used to have a bad record in this department too but since the fabled Briganties disbanded it is very very limited from us now. Special mention to Leigh who's anger and animosity stems from a complete jealousy of our success and knowing they will never be able to come close to it.

You certainly get the feeling someone's going to get burned by this.
Does Steve Diamond really believe this can be settled out of court in a way that will cost him less than a legitimate transfer fee would have?
Interesting and maybe very accurate comment in that piece, namely that "Rugby Union still doesn't really seem to understand what professionalism means".

Nothing to do with that at all Cherry, the two towns have never been alike, from the civil war to Humble pie we have rarely been on the same side. The shoe horning into what we have today has never sat well with the majority over here, but I don't know a Leyther who would not wish to mirror Wigans recipe for SL success, but as a small town we will savour the bits that we experience.

I don't really think that about Leigh, I was fishing for a bite. In all honesty i welcome Leigh to Sl with open arms and i also welcome their spending policy and willingness to get competitive straight from the get go. I for one hope Leigh are here to stay. For years i have wanted Wakefield out because they have never seemed bothered about progressing where as you guys were desperate to have a crack. As it is Wakey over the past couple of seasons have improved massively and have now got a decent side and a decent coach. I worry for the likes of Widnes, Huddersfield and Salford though. There is only one direction those 3 teams are heading in.

| I'm delighted Leigh are in SL now. The guaranteed 4 points we'll take off them for a start.

I don't think taking points off the champions is top of our must get list, but I think we will give you one hell of a scrap at ours

Steve diamond now says cas FIRED Solomona before Sharks signed him. Sounds like an early case of Christmas drinks in Sale.

| Sale changing their story doesn't look great in their part.
I see they're after George Ford now from Bath so maybe he can just retire from Bath. They play in a different kit and on different grass so if he says he's had enough if those things that should be fine.

Sounds more like a case of Diamond suddenly cacking himself.

I agree the current spotlight on RU doesn't look good for them. But I'm not sure it's a 'scum sport'. As with all things in life, there are good and bad. I don't like watching it, but then I don't like Basketball, Kabbadi or Tennis either.

Embarrassing for who? Me? i don't think so. A sport that is trying to crush ours. Scummy in the sense that they are quite happy to drain ours like they have a right to do so. Damn right i want them to get hurt. If you want to name call me at least have the balls to say it to my face, otherwise, stick your keyboard up your and don't bother replying in the first place. If you disagree with what i say then give me reasons why, don't just give me crap you gobe.
