| Awesome - my heart was in my mouth waiting for some prat to step out and into his way - delighted he did it, great sportsman with a wonderful sense of humour and well done to Chris Froome as well who also turned in a great performance and a very fast time

He shouldn't IMO. Those honors should be given to those that have helped others, not themselves. I'm not taking anything away from what Bradley has achieved, to become the most successful British Olympian of all time is no mean feat. But to receive a knighthood for it. Hmm not what the honors list should be about. But the precedent was set a long time ago.
Congratulation's to him.

| Awesome stuff!
Is he done now? Let's get him on the pitch on Friday on his bike, wearing his yellow jersey with a gold medal round his neck.
It'd raise the roof!

He's not riding the track. He'll probably do some criterium races around Europe to cash in on his win, but I can't see him doing any serious racing until the World Champs in September.

| Great interview on BBC tonight. Very interesting to hear what he had to say about coping with the pressure - he said he thrived on it.
Everything Wiggins said about what he did sounded so strong psychologically. If he's coming to the DW we need to get him to talk to the players about how you deal with pressure and how you go about putting together a series of big performances.
Very interesting to hear about the transition he's made now from being someone who wasn't particularly famous in the UK before to being a massive star in the UK.
As for the comments on whether he should get a knighthood or not, knighthoods have been given to people to recognise exceptional achievement in their field for a very long time.
I don't see why achievement in sport at the level of a Wiggins, Hoy, Redgrave or a Holmes should not be recognised by a knighthood/damehood. These are people who have incredible natural talent but have also shown incredible dedication and commitment to their sport and are inspirational role models for the young and great ambassadors for this country.

| Be good to see him at the Saints match at home, that will give the players enough time to grow their side burns.
He did admit to supporting Liverpool, on that basis he should NOT be Knighted

| Cockney Pie - He should be a Bronco.
Typical 80's sports fan, Liverpool and Wigan. Glory chaser with no connection to either.
I dont expect Lennegan to miss out on an opportunity to be photograghed with him.

He lives in ecclestone so the closest team to him would be Wigan. And he was born in Belgium. Bit of a mixed bag.
