87 central park wigan
we love you we love you
nah nah nah nah nah hey hey wigan warriors
then the random tune with the long drummin that has no lyrics but some tune, duno what its called.
Don't mind the odd one obviously but think it's a bit blatant ripping off to many.

No they can't. Only one of the home stands is not reserved seating so haw can fans congregate?
Quote: Odemwingie "The fans make the atmosphere.

They do and I thought the best of that tonight was when we had to defend because we actually had a game to watch as opposed to a procession. We do IMO get great atmosphere when Saints and Wire come. Leeds used to bring fans but don't do so in good enough numbers now. It will be interesting to see how promoting Hudds as the Big One works out.
You need two things for a good atmosphere IMO. A competitive game and some away fans to shout at. We might get more of the former these days but I reckon we get far less of the latter than when we were at CP and winning everything in sight.

So if people in the south stand wanted to sing then they would move towards the back.
You need fans for a good atmosphere. Fans all over europe sing for 90mins even if they are getting beat.

| Slightly off topic but in regards to atmosphere I really do think away fans make a game at the DW.
I'm worried about advertising our game to new fans at the big one 3 as whilst it will be a good crowd it don't think it will be a good atmosphere as they won't generate an opposition atmosphere like Leeds, Saints, Wire or both Hudds would.

Well you can sing for the sake of it I suppose but my two best ever club ground atmospheres were one at Central Park and another at the DW. The first was when were in the "mission impossible" season and were 18-2 down to Bradford and came back to draw. The other was also against Bradford when we won 31-30 after a last second try and conversion. The atmosphere at those two games had nothing to do with singing.

I agree you can have an awesome atmosphere without too much singing but yes you are right that kind of thing doesn't happen without a good game.
My hope is that we will see the numbers of the Brigantes grow and we can get enough people sat together in the south stand to make sure every home game we give the players the support they deserve.

2 of them are inspired by St Pauli songs and the last one sounds like Dale Cavese (Italian team).
If they aren't sung by other RL clubs then I don't see a problem which football club inspired the song.
Seeing as Everton shamelessly rip Celtic off as well Liam and don't have any of their own songs I imagine that you are getting this from both your clubs

| For those interested (and a few were when this thread started), Saints' bank debt going into the new stadium has been confirmed as zero.
£3m convertible bond and £3m "private debt facility" obtained from private sources (i.e. McManus and his cashed up pals). All pre-existing bank debt wiped out and stadium and fit out paid for.
From the gushing press release, it sounds like Mike Coleman (St Helens lad, Saints fan and hedge fund manager in Singapore) has put his hand in his pocket for most of it.
What McManus has achieved for the club in his tenure (given the economy) is quite remarkable.
Can't wait for 2012 to start.
