Come on, be fair. He's played one game in the first team and put in a fairly solid performance. Nothing outstanding or flashy, but got the job done. Just like you wanted to withhold your praise of Roberts after the crusaders game till you'd seen more, why not withhold your criticism of Pryce until you've seen more of him in the first team under Madge?

His last outing being the round 27 last year away 48-16 tonking at hudds? where he made an appearance at centre as a substitute?

Or his outing before that being the narrow round 20 home 24-22 win against Catalan where he was brought on at stand off as a substitute?

What ever people's thoughts of him are only McGuire's opinion really matters, and from Madge's reaction it won't be last we see of Pryce.

But he hasn't been de-briefed by King Warrior Yet so he may change His opinion of him after that insightful chat!

Pryce did turn a corner yesterday with his solid display. He earned his shot yesterday and has performed well enough to keep his place in the team.

Lets hope he builds on that now as it will only work out well for Wigan.

The most complimentary comments I'm seeing, which I tend to agree with, are along the lines of: "did OK"; "did nothing wrong"; "fairly solid", which is a reasonable start, but hardly forcing his way into the side.

Again, you have missed the point. I have not said he was terrible.

I have already said I hope he proves me wrong so I can be laughed at. I would much rather have a young player developing for the long term and save the cap space, but I hope he scores a hatrick next week.

As for him showing no enthusiasm why dont you watch the match highlights and look at his reaction for Tomkins and Carmonts trys. He seems enthusiastic to me!

In a nutshell, your saying he isn't enthusiastic enough, and you would rather have a young player coming through.

I'm saying that Pryce did nothing wrong yesterday, and should be judged on how he plays, not how entusiastic he looks.

Which bit am I not reading? Oh, and isn't Pryce only 23? Whats the difference between him stepping up from academy and doing a job, and someone else stepping up from academy and doing a job?
