The Sun probably know less then we do but it's more then likely correct(although i don't buy the bit about Wire laoning him back to Salford).
I hope it gets sorted out soon for the lads sake.

There's absolutely nothing new there at all. There's no advancement whatsoever on the story since Offiah said that Myler wouldn't be staying at Salford. It's a space-filler made attractive by a sensationalist headline writer.
Surprising really, because other clubs have now entered the bidding war, and I'd have thought the nationals would have picked up on that.

How many clubs are now involved?
We need to be in the shake up, if we miss out, fair enough, but the opportunity to pair up potentially the best two halfbacks in the country is too appealing to miss.

Would totally agree we should at least give it a go, to be fair though apart from wire and obviously Salford, who else have actually been linked with him?
Most of the half backs we've been linked with have pretty much said no, Orford wants to stay with Manly, Finch doesn't want to come over and Lockyer's name hasn't been mentioned for a while so I assume that's dead in the water. So unless Lenegan has somebody in his sights that hasn't been named in the media yet, then Myler is one option from a rapidly draining pool.

I know it's a complete long shot to even think about but when I look at Saints they have Wheeler and Eastmond who imo both have the potential to be as good as Myler. (in fact Eastmond is up there already)
I can’t see them both having a future at Saints with Pryce being 27 and Wellens 29. Maybe Wheeler could replace Gidley when he leaves but you’d think Soliola has the other spot nailed on?
Cheeky bid perhaps?

We've just freed up an extra 100k courtesy of Mr Hock too - we aren't short of back-row forwards so replacing him should be an internal issue ie. playing 3 of Hansen, Bailey, Tomkins, O'Loughlin and the lads in the Academy too.

Saints are letting Long go so they can give one of the two you mention a gig.
As good as Eastmond is (up there with Tomkins and Myler IMHO) I've seen them over on the Saints board question his attitude in relation to getting dropped to the academy having played in the first team.

The issue that Saints are facing is that two players into one position won't go. They won't let Pryce leave as he's A-still youngish and B- has the valuable experience they are going to need as the likes of KC, Long, Gilmour, Gidley and Cayless aren't spring chickens any more.
I’m not saying it will be this season or even next but sooner rather than later one of those good players COULD well be up for grabs and we’d be foolish to miss out on either of them.
I don’t know what some of the Saints fans on here think about how those two are going to fit into their team.

Agree that at least one of them is likely to become available at some point but both will only be 20 by the start of the 2010 season. It's likely to be at least 2 or 3 seasons until either becomes available and Leon Pryce will be 30 or so by then - it would be a 50/50 whether they keep him for another two years or try and fit Wheeler and Eastmond into the same team.
Don't think we can afford to have another two years of "transitional period" waiting for someone to partner Sam in the halves.

My understanding is that it's at least four. Inevitably that decreases our chances of snagging the lad, but Warrington have no reason to be confident either.

Who do you think they are?
Think Saints, Wire and ourselves are certainties - Bradford interested? Deacon's been a bit injury prone of late and Jefferies isn't of the standard they're used to.
