Steve Brehney on Bill Ashurst!!'"
Don’t remember that one Brian but I remember Jim Mills on Bill Ashurst at Widnes. I think Ashurst had just come back from Australia. Mills attacked Ashurst form behind. Off the field it would have been gbh.

| How Wille Mason got away with elbowing Sean Long I'll never know..... apart from it was played in Australia.......
Bill Ashurst's headbutt on Andy Goodway was pretty blatant
That was the most bizarre one I've every seen - came out of retirement to play, I think he came on as a sub and promptly headbutted Goodway at the PTB . Must of thought he was playing back in his prime when that stuff was allowed !!

| I remember the Mills on Ashurst slightly differently. I was in the front of the stands with my dad, about 20 yards fron the action. Ashurst was tackled by a Widnes player a lying on his front. Mills was kneeling near his head and repeatedly gave him a barrage of about 5 blows to his head which shot backwards each time. It was absolutely vicious. It was horrible and I couldn’t believe what I was witnessing. Ashurst was unconscious and carried off on a stretcher and Mills was sent off immediately.
Made Cassidy seem like a pussycat!

| I remember one at Central Park. I think it was Jeff Grayshon. He calmly walked out of the defensive line, floored a Wigan player then walked off the pitch before the ref had a chance to show him the red card.
I remember standing in the crowd thinking wtf just happened.

Yes, and we never even got a penalty!!
One of the reasons I really hope Wakefield beat Cas tonight and relegate them.

| A couple of years ago I was in a bar in Tenerife (Tanyo's) and got chatting to a bloke in a Workington vest. Turned out he was an ex player - Billy Pattinson (just before my time) who told us in great detail how Bill Ashurst's elbow had broken his jaw.
