They’re a good side and I still feel like we’re trying to build our way back up. I think we’re meeting somewhere in the middle and it makes it a tight call. Pick a combined side from the two sides and it would be pretty equal, so no reason why we’d think it should be a comfortable day.

I have a great deal of respect for Watson and the Huddersfield team.
I genuinely believe that either side can win this one which for me is how it should be for any final.
Can't see more than 4 points separating the teams.
Hopefully dry conditions and a good start by us can give us the edge.

Tommy named in the squad

Very surprising (although I did Google his injury a couple of weeks ago and it suggested a 4-6 week recovery but thought that might just be for a big fat bloke like me to walk ok down the street).

Presuming he is fit enough to play, I’d put Tommy in that 17th spot and ask him to spell Brad O’Neill I think. I really feel for Shorrocks but it gives us a far better balance in there.

Looking at the training pictures, the team seems to have been running opposed sessions against lads not playing. The non playing lads are in St Judes kits (fine details they’re going in to playing them in Huddersfield colours) and included Isa and Partington, so they definitely look to be missing out.

Getting your excuse in already? Can't think of anyone better than Child on this seasons performances.

Wee Tam must be in to give him his place as club captain for the occasion. Surely cant risk him. Love to see him play though if fit

No Fages is a big loss. Still expect a tough game, but I'd have us as favourites with him out and Tommy on the bench.

We won't risk Tommy if he isn't ready and we shouldn't do.

Shorrocks at 9 isn't great, but it's a far better option than losing a sub and O'Neill having to do longer minutes than he is used to.
