You’re right there. If it’s like the last one it’ll be an old fella going on about wanting a reserved seat in the South Stand for half an hour.

| Do the 120 get selected on their ability to ask "easy" questions, or do those who are prepared to ask challenging questions also in attendance?
If its the latter, then could someone please ask as to why George Williams was allowed to walk away from a legally binding agreement for free?
Could they also ask as to how long our current agreement to use the DW runs for, and can any amendment be made to the agreement before that date without the say so of both parties (ie can the owner increase the rent without our agreement)

It would probably be better to ask "What is the point in inserting these first refusals which are legally binding if we aren't going to hold players accountable and its just going to result in a bidding war."
What scenarios occur where they're actually worthwhile?

Who's saying they are being selected? As far as I can see it's the first come first served from 10 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Already told us rlhttps://wiganwarriors.com/blog/2021/06/18/club-statement-george-williams/rl

Something like this gets asked every time they run one. The response is always along these lines - mutually beneficial for both clubs to work together. rlhttps://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wigantoday.net/sport/football/ian-lenagan-on-wigan-athletic-involvement-hopes-and-plans-for-future-3160135%3famprl
I get that you might not like those answers but there's no point asking a question IL has already made a recent statement about, he will just repeat the same thing and burn valuable time.

The same as it was last time it was renewed but it's irrelevant really because without the council say so no owner can evict us. It's until about 2055 though I think.
They can however, charge us what they want and we can choose to walk away if we wish but the council probably won't be too happy about that and I very much doubt we would be building (or developing) any other stadium within the town.

| I'd like to know:
- What financial state is the club in post COVID? Are we at a point where it is impacting our ability to spend the full cap and compete for top marquee players?
- Our best players routinely leave their contracts early for the NRL, and it now appears less certain that we will even have first choice when they do return to SL. Will the club do anything different going forward in this regard?
- Most top positions at the club are filled by Wiganers, even more so next season according to rumours. Are we really doing everything we can to recruit the most talented staff for each position, and is there a danger we are missing out on good people/ideas from outside the town?

I did think that they may invite some fans who they trust to ask pertinent questions to reduce the possibility of inane questioning. Not “plants” for any easy ride but people who they know will ask challenging questions. I’d like to think Jukes and NickyKiss would be great invitees at such an event. Passionate fans but with a strong pragmatic approach.
If I was IL I’d like to be really challenged and hear exactly what fans are thinking'"
I'll be doing my best to get a ticket, ill let you know if I get one tomorrow

Is love too but work set days and don’t finish till 8pm (I’ve had to take a couple of hours holidays for tonight’s game)but if they want to hold it back to 9pm I’ll be there otherwise I’ll email a couple of questions to them and hope they don’t get used as they’ve been asked in the room.

i've just posted something similar about this in the rumour section
why offer a 4-5 year contract if we know there is no chance of it being honoured by the player, unless it is a short term revenue from transfer fee and that is the pure reason for the length of contract

I think it's because the players hold all the power. If the club don't offer them a long contract, then they might go elsewhere. Sadly, the only way it will be honoured in full is if the player doesn't play well enough to attract NRL interest, or gets injured. There might be little the club can do about the situation, I would just be interested to know whether anything will change following Bateman's comments on his way out and the Williams situation. Maybe they will hold players to their contracts more often, demand more in transfer fees, or put tighter contracts in place to ensure we get right if first refusal if they return to SL. I get that ideally we don't want players who don't want to be here, but we do seem to be a really soft touch.
