bit of a cop out by the RFL considering they wont let salford have an academy

whats the difference if they have the doctors say so, thats like saying 10 players are out with covid, use your academy and the rest of the squad

Salford do have an academy, it just plays in the college league because it's not that strong. Salford also had reserves before COVID kicked in, they lost 24-22 to Saints reserves. I do have some sympathy though given the high number of games in a short period they went through, they couldn't have foreseen that when they were putting the squad together. Anyway we're on a tangent, main point is it's (rightly) treated differently postponing a game due to COVID as opposed to injuries.

no they dont, neither Leigh of them have academies they have foundations due to the RFL allowing them to have one, they had to go to the college league as they had each other to play thats it, I went to the game as my nephew played for them and spoke to the coaches of both clubs.

It's literally called Salford Education Academy. They have had lads graduate from there to Super League this year.

its not an academy like I aid its the same as the Leigh one, you have to attend the college in order to play. So in effect is the college team thats loosely affiliated with the club

Loosely as in the club funds the team, the play in Salford kit, at Salford's stadium, coached by Salford coaches, and at least four have debuted for Salford first team this year



I don't know what point you're trying to make but that is Salford's academy. They can and do call upon those players if they get injuries etc (the Wire game before the CC Final being an obvious example).

play at the facility next to salfords ground not in the ground, wear kit and are funded by fans, they would qualify as the under 18's academy not the 21's, thats how young they are
