Nelson Mandela was still protesting against apartheid, then went to prison for it for the best part of 30 years. He was released from prison & helped abolish apartheid, spent five years as president and set a lot of wrongs to right. He then retired and then retired from retirement.

It was 65 years ago that missionaries introduced running water and basic hygiene regimes to St Helens. They stated that it would take up to 100 years for these subhumans to bring their standard of living up to a Victorian slum dwellers standards.
