Ours do!
Also - You charge Adult price from 17 - We have a Student 17-21 option that is £16 on the day - Yours would be £21 and then go up to £25 if they came on the day.
Bear in mind our Adult prices are £23 - Yet Huddersfield's go up to £25 on the day
Our OAP is $17 - Huddersfield's is £16 - But goes up £4 to £20 on the day & Huddersfield's only start at 65
No way on earth overall is Wigan's more expensive than Huddersfield's
If I was taking my 2 x lads this Sunday who are 17 & 20 and both students it would cost us 3 £63 in advance or £75 on the day
In return your 3 would get in for £55 ( Adult £23 & 2 x £16) no matter if they paid in advance or on the day
An adult coming to Huddersfield who has 2 under 16's if Season Ticket holders would only pay £21 - or £25 on the day (If they got the Junior Swaps)
An Adult coming to Wigan with 2 under 16 ST holders doing the same would be £23 full stop
Pieman says he was happy with his £55 for this Sunday
Someone coming to Wigan next Sunday for HKR would only pay £50 not 55
£23 Adult
£17 OAP (And they can get it from 60 not 65)
£10 Junior (And not sure if away fans get the Free U8's like we do - But then again surely they'd be ST holders and get the free swaps anyway)
But as the poster says - If you try and pay on the day Sunday at Hudds you'll pay £56
It's obviously comparing Apples with oranges
But not sure why anyone would be buying a Junior ticket for an away game - When a Season ticket for U17's only costs £35 for they Year at Wigan and they get a Free Swap for all away games!!!!!!
Don't even get me started on Wigan's ridiculously cheap ST's'"
sorry andy meant it would have been 55 quid at wigan, only cost me 43 at hudds (from wigan)....my bad worded it poorly

Not if your 60-64
Not if your 17 -21
Not if your a junior season ticket holder at Wigan or under 7
Not if you pay on the day.

| A lot of businesses offer early bird discounts. It allows them to plan accordingly.
Huddersfield will want a rough idea as to how many are attending so they can roster enough zero-hours stewards. They know Wiganers are tight (just like them) and wont want to pay extra, so by hiking the price up (or discounting if you prefer), they'll have the right number of staff on duty.

So which is it ?
Are they giving a discount? In which case their normal price is sky high
Or
Are they hiking the price on the day? Which is what the thread is about, I.e. they are discouraging people to attend on the day significantly.
As for staff, seriously?
If wigan sell 1000 tickets pre match do you think huddersfield don't want 500 turning up on the day (possibly another £10,000 in the kitty) just so they know if they have to put an extra 1 or 2 teenagers on £20 for the afternoon on the hot dog stall.
Put it up a couple of quid, fair enough to encourage early sales.
But £4 per ticket discourages people to go on the day IMO.
It's up to them what they do, but I'm not going to praise then for doing it as the only people that suffer are the fans.

| How much do Wigan charge for away fans?
For me £24 is a tad expensive but whether its £20 or £24 does it matter?
Is £4 going to stop you going? Or will it be another excuse for the ever increasing book?
Challenge cup final tickets and grand final tickets are on sale now at a far cheaper rate than they will be in July and October respectively. Should this be allowed?

I doubt Very much 500 wiganers are going to just decide to rock up on the day regardless of the price. Most wiganers, if they have any sense, will buy tickets through their own club as it benefits their own club.
You are aware Wigan also do this- with discounted tickets available up front on Groupon and wowcher.....

There definitely won't be if they're being charged 20% more on the day.
However my riginal response to a Wigan poster who said it was cheaper than Wigan, in short it isnt
And it definitely isnt if you go on the day.
Also my 2nd response was aimed at the poster whi said it helps Huddesfield predict how many are coming.
False economy
There used to be a strong away day pay on the day culture, but put prices up significantly and it will discourage those who may decide to travel on the day (taking into acount weather, they may have kids playing junior rugby Sunday mornings etx.).
I picked an arbitrary figure of 500 which isnt unrealistic in my opinion, but if its 100/200 or whatever the point is we wonder why people/crowds arent travelling but charge people more on the day. Dont forget they're also charging their own fans more.
Yes other clubs do it, a couple of quid then maybe fair enough, £4 a ticket for say a family of four is significant.
Its huddersfield choice and that's end of story.

Your clubs choice to do what it wants
PS
Good luck getting tickets for the game at our place on either of those sites.
